The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience working with children and young people with severe social, emotional and behavioural needs
- Demonstrate a fair, consistent and assertive approach

- Be confident in managing complex and challenging behaviour
Requirements
This role is suitable for experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs), as well as those with teaching experience in primary and/or secondary education.
Recent experience and a genuine passion for working within an SEMH environment are highly desirable. Training in CPI or other positive handling approaches would be advantageous, although full training will be provided.
Salary and Benefits
Main Pay Scale or Upper Pay Scale (dependent on experience), plus SEN Allowance.
Wandle Valley Academy is part of the Parallel Learning Trust (PLT), a Multi Academy Trust committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils.
As this role involves regular contact with children, any offer of employment will be subject to:
- An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check

- Satisfactory references
We will also carry out online searches on shortlisted candidates as part of our due diligence.
