
Youth Employment Support Worker

Derbyshire County Council Public health is delivering a Youth Guarantee Trailblazer pilot project. This supports young people (18-21) with barriers to entering employment beyond what existing services currently offer. This project will be externally valuated, co-produced with young people and lead the way for change for our young people that risk exclusion from the working world. This work sits within the Wider Determinants of Health team and supports the development and implementation of work linking to the Council’s Public Health strategy.
Working in a team with a Health Improvement Practitioner and a Youth Employment Officer (grade 9) - the post holder will provide effective support to design and deliver the Youth Trailblazer Pilot. They will work with community and public health partners and stakeholders to engage a cohort, deliver the project and support evaluation with an external partner.
The right candidate needs to be able to demonstrate that they are passionate about reducing health inequalities – especially for young adults, tackling the wider determinants of health, and promoting wellbeing in Derbyshire. Work will include: -
- Supporting the Health Improvement Practitioner (HIP) and Youth Employment Officer (YEO) to develop, undertake, and evaluate co-production of the project.
- Support the YEO to arrange and deliver workshops, sessions and activities related to the project as needed.
- Collecting data and reporting in order to support learning from work delivered to evaluate and improve the project
- Monitoring project plans and ensuring that actions are delivered.
- Collecting and co-ordinating data and maintaining GDPR as directed by HIP/YEO
- Promoting the work of the Public Health department, including supporting to provide case studies, drafting reports and developing publicity materials.
- Supporting with communication and calendars so that team can effectively work with colleagues, partners and stakeholders to influence and address the wider social determinants of health leading to good work.

Salary range
- £25,989 - £26,458 per year
