Within the Streetscene Unit, the Enforcement Team delivers a wide range of regulatory services. We are looking to recruit a full time temporary Enforcement Officer to improve the quality of life for local residents. This will involve using a range of tools and powers including statutory enforcement and educational/prevention work to address environmental quality of life issues in the borough.
The job involves a full range of environmental services, including responding to customer complaints, requests for service, investigations, proactive inspections with residents and councillors and also working closely with waste and cleansing contractors and using innovative solutions across a wide range of legislative approaches to address complex issues.
The post will be based in the Council’s Town Hall Offices within Burnley Town Centre.
The Council takes a proactive stance in addressing environmental crime and has a proven track record.
You must have a current full driving licence and access to a car for work purposes. Experience of using manual and computerised office systems is essential. You must also be able to work with minimum supervision and be able to work flexibly to prioritise and plan workloads in order to meet deadlines. The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and be able to produce letters and reports is also essential.
The position will involve working out of office hours (early mornings/evenings/weekends) by agreement.
