Evelina <br>communicates using an eye-gaze device and eye pointing – she loves to tell a good <br>joke! Evelina also has cerebral palsy, epilepsy, a vision impairment and is tube fed. <br>Evelina likes fun, calm and caring people who are dedicated to understanding her and <br>how she needs them to support her.</p>\n<p><br>About the Role<br>As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting a pupil’s physical and <br>medical needs, communication, and access to learning. Working in collaboration and <br>under the direction of the teacher and class staff, therapists, and health professionals, <br>you will help implement physiotherapy programs, mobility support, and personal care <br>routines needed to enable the pupil to access learning at an early National Curriculum <br>level</p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with physical, communication, cognition and <br>medical needs.</li>\n<li>Work as part of a team and communicate effectively with pupils’ family on a daily basis with professionalism, confidence and kindness.</li>\n<li>Assist with physiotherapy and occupational therapy programs, including mobility exercises, sensory diet, hydrotherapy, and positioning in collaboration and being led by a multi professional team embedding therapeutic targets into everyday learning.</li>\n<li>Support the pupil’s engagement in learning activities, promoting independence and confidence, adapting teacher-led lesson plans creatively to engage the pupil within their abilities.</li>\n<li>Assist with personal care, specialist seating, and the use of mobility and <br>communication aids and devices.</li>\n<li>Model and facilitate independent use of the pupil’s eye-gaze communication. </li>\n<li>Work under the direction of the teacher and wider multi professionals.</li>\n<li>Foster the pupil’s confidence and independence, supporting with social <br>interaction with both peers and adults.</li>\n<li>Promote the school’s values of Love, Learning, and Individuality in all aspects of school life.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>What We’re Looking For:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience or qualifications in special schools, physiotherapy, occupational <br>therapy, or healthcare.</li>\n<li>A passion for working with children and young people with special educational <br>needs and disabilities (SEND).</li>\n<li>An understanding of mobility, therapy techniques, and assistive technology.</li>\n<li>A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach.</li>\n<li>High emotional intelligence - About the Role
