Teaching Assistant

Learning Support Assistant (SEN) NJC Grade 5 / Actual salary £6975 - 7133/ 12 hours per week / 38 weeks. Fixed Term Contract to start 1^st September 2025 linked to two children, with 6 hours per child, in Year 2 and Year 4.

Nether Alderley Primary School is a small, successful rural school in Cheshire, located close to the village of Alderley Edge.  In its long history, the school has established a reputation for excellence in the local community and we pride ourselves on being a place of learning where pupils are safe, respected and valued within a nurturing, family community.

We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work with a year two pupil for 6 hours per week, Monday morning and Wednesday mornings, and a year four pupil for 6 hours per week all day on a Thursday. 

Your role will be to work alongside the class teachers to deliver the objectives as stated in the children’s Education, Health and Care plans, including:

• To support social communication and interaction difficulties.
• To help manage anxiety levels and regulation and overcome demand avoidance strategies.
• To provide sensory breaks and social skills interventions.

You will be the key worker for the child and will liaise with other members of staff, parents and other professionals.

We need you to have an NVQ 2 or higher; experience of supporting pupils with learning, speech, language and communication needs and to be self-motivated and able to work in a small team with a positive, can-do attitude.

We are also recruiting for a Teaching Assistant role, and the two roles could be combined.
