Working for Koru Independent AP Academy
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, experienced and effective Teaching Assistant who is enthusiastic and motivated, with a calm, approachable and personable manner to join our nurturing and successful Alternative Provision.
Based in the heart of Harold Hill, our academy specialises in alternative provision and supporting the social and emotional educational needs of young people. Koru Independent AP Academy supports up to 50 students for whom traditional teaching methods have not worked. Students, ranging in age from 11 to 16, join us after being at risk of permanent exclusion from a mainstream school or due to having medical needs that prevent them from attending a mainstream setting.
Our academy is a nurturing, inclusive community where students are able to grow and develop. We strive to ensure success for all our learners academically, socially, emotionally and morally. We build a curriculum around the needs of our students and are proud that our Year 11 students leave with qualifications on par with their mainstream peers and transition into education, training or employment.
All applicants for this post must be willing to undergo child protection screening, including reference checks with Disclosure & Barring service, health check, two satisfactory references and online/social media checks.
We'd love to hear from you if you'd like a new challange, have a "can do" attitude and feel that you could make a difference.
Any questions and visits to the school are warmly welcomed.
