The Governors of Garth Hill College are seeking to appoint a flexible and reliable person to support the Governing Board.
This term time only position is for 20 hours per week, including a maximum of two meetings a term from 18h30 – 20h30.

This is a key role. The Clerk makes an invaluable and vital contribution to the efficiency, effectiveness, productivity and legal compliance of the Governing Board. The Clerk works in partnership with the Chair of Governors to keep the Board focused on its core strategic priorities, provide independent and expert advice and guidance to the Board on its duties and functions and deliver administrative and organisational support, including taking minutes, to facilitate sound governance.
The successfully appointed person will carry duties in line with the seven principles of public life (Nolan principles), mindful of the impact of effective governance on the quality of education and on outcomes for all children and young people.
Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills and excellent attention to detail are essential. You will use technology effectively and confidently to streamline planning and administration activity for the Board. You will be a good communicator, have a flexible attitude and work well both on your own, using your own initiative, and as part of a team. You will be totally discreet and comfortable handling highly confidential and sensitive information.
