Are you passionate about supporting people who’ve fled crisis and are starting over in a new country? Do you want your work to have a lasting, meaningful impact? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.
The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.
In this vital role, you’ll provide specialist, intensive support to homeless clients who are refugees, helping them find stability, safety and hope. You’ll coordinate resettlement services across the council and with external partners, ensuring a joined-up approach to housing, advice and support for refugees and asylum seekers.
You'll also represent Brent’s homelessness services at internal and external forums — including pan-London and Greater London Authority (GLA) networks — helping to shape and influence best practice.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
• Compassionate – you care deeply about people and are driven to improve lives.
• Knowledgeable – you have a strong understanding of housing legislation and the legal frameworks around asylum, immigration, and refugee support.
• Experienced – you've worked with key housing systems and understand the challenges facing vulnerable people experiencing homelessness.
• Collaborative – you’re a team player who can engage and influence a range of stakeholders.
• Organised and Analytical – you can manage complex caseloads, make evidence-based decisions, and use I.T. effectively to support your work.
If you're ready to be part of a forward-thinking council and help transform how we support some of our most vulnerable residents, we want to hear from you.
