excited to recruit for a Nursery Room Lead for our new ‘Hedgehogs’ Room, catering for our youngest children aged 9–24 months within our brand new, governor-led nursery provision.</p>\n<p>This is a unique opportunity to lead practice at the earliest stage of a child’s learning journey, providing high-quality, responsive care and education in a purpose-designed room, fully aligned with Birth to 5 Matters, Development Matters (2021) and EYFS statutory requirements.</p>\n<p>We are seeking an experienced, caring, and reflective early years professional to shape and lead practice that prioritises secure attachments, emotional wellbeing, and curiosity-led exploration — recognising that children at this age learn best through warm, responsive relationships and playful routines and responsive planning, in line with the Statutory EYFS (2024) requirements for the youngest age group.</p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<p>Lead the planning and delivery of a holistic, play-based curriculum tailored to the developmental needs of 9–24-month-olds, ensuring alignment with the Statutory EYFS (2024) and Birth to 5 Matters guidance.</p>\n<p>Create a calm, nurturing, and enabling environment, with predictable routines that support children’s attachment needs, emotional security, and early communication skills.</p>\n<p>Support, mentor, and inspire your team to deliver high-quality interactions, care routines, and curriculum outcomes, ensuring consistent reflective practice.</p>\n<p>Act as a Key Person, fostering strong, trusting attachments and working closely with families to support home–nursery transitions, as outlined in the EYFS guidance (2024).</p>\n<p>Monitor and reflect on children’s learning and development, using the setting’s observation and assessment systems to inform planning and celebrate the progress of each child, particularly within the Prime Areas of Learning.</p>\n<p>Ensure excellent standards of safeguarding, hygiene, intimate care, and health, in line with EYFS (2024) Safeguarding and Welfare Requirements.</p>\n<p>Develop strong, sensitive relationships with parents, carers, colleagues and external professionals, offering guidance and support around early development, including early language, physical care routines, and emotional wellbeing.</p>\n<p>Contribute to continuous improvement and reflective practice within the nursery, ensuring the voice of the youngest children informs the setting’s development.</p>\n<p><strong>What We’re Looking For</strong></p>\n<p>A Level 3 or above qualification in Early Years Education and Childcare, with relevant experience in leading practice for children aged under 2s, preferably 9–24-month-olds.</p>\n<p>Strong knowledge of child development in the first two years, including early attachment, sensory play, early language acquisition, and physical development milestones.</p>\n<p>A commitment to child-centred, relational practice, recognising the essential role of the Key Person approach in supporting wellbeing and learning.</p>\n<p>Strong leadership, coaching, and organisational skills, with the ability to inspire a team to deliver the highest standards of care and education.</p>\n<p>Experience in planning, observing, and assessing in line with the Statutory EYFS and Birth to 5 Matters.</p>\n<p>Confidence working with school-based systems, safeguarding procedures, and reflective team practice.</p>\n<p>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build warm, respectful relationships with
