Come join us and be part of our success.</span></span></span><span class=\"EOP SCXW209482479 BCX8\"> </span></p>\n<p>An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Knowsley Council’s Public Health team as a Public Health (Breastfeeding) Programme Officer.</p>\n<p>The public health team is responsible for providing leadership on health improvement and health protection to reduce health inequalities and improve health outcomes for residents.  It does this through influencing and working across the council and with partners to promote health behaviours, to embed a health in all policies approach, and to deliver system approaches to improve health outcomes.</p>\n<p>Come join the small public health team and be a crucial part of the team</p>\n<p>This exciting position will lead on public health programmes and activities related to tackling inequalities in the health of young children and maternal health (primarily with a focus on breastfeeding). Infant feeding is one of the principal themes of the Knowsley Family Hubs programme, and the postholder will lead the implementation of the Family Hubs infant feeding workstream which is being delivered by a multi-agency stakeholder group, which includes commissioned services to support breastfeeding. </p>\n<p>Knowsley Council has recently launched a Breastfeeding Strategy 2025-2030 which aims to improve rates of breastfeeding and to provide a better experience for people who breastfeed. The aims of the strategy include the creation of a breastfeeding culture in Knowsley, providing information and empowering people to choose to breastfeed, and ensuring support is in place at the right time, and is delivered by a skilled workforce.</p>\n<p>You will lead, develop and implement evidence-based public health strategies to improve public health outcomes. You will act as a link between public health, the 0-19 service, the Family Hubs programme, and other stakeholders and settings, to promote healthy environments and practice.</p>\n<p>You will be expected to build strong relationships and work in partnership with others to improve child and maternal health outcomes.</p>\n<p>Along with your CV, please describe in a covering letter your suitability for the post (maximum 2 sides A4).
