We are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Ecology Officer to join our Green Infrastructure team at Wokingham Borough Council. In this role you will provide expert ecological advice to support planning, design and delivery of green infrastructure with a focus on protecting and enhancing local biodiversity. Working closely with colleagues, developers and community stakeholders you will ensure that new developments and projects comply with ecological best practices and legal requirements such as Biodiversity Net Gain.
This is an exciting opportunity to help ensure nature-focussed thinking and design into the heart of local planning and development across the local area.
Our Area:
Wokingham is an attractive, historic market town located in the prosperous Thames Valley in the heart of Berkshire and 40 miles west of London. With easy access to the M4 and M3 motorways and on a train line between Reading and Waterloo and also Reading and Gatwick.
You will be provided with a laptop and a mix of home working and office working is available. Applicants should have a full driving licence and access to a car to undertake site visits. We are looking for people with great IT skills and a customer focused approach.
