We are looking for an individual to work as part of a small team to operate a combination of various types of loading shovels / plant as required, with due care and consideration for others operating in the Waste Transfer Station.
Working closely with the Supervisors and Management, the successful candidate will also undertake the manual sorting of waste within our externally Licensed Waste Transfer Station to ensure the elimination of potential contamination in line with our procedures. You will be required to undertake daily vehicles checks and report any defects on appropriate paperwork. You will also be required to assist authorised vehicles to tip and load from the appropriate storage bays and check and complete appropriate paperwork in respect of all vehicle movements within the Waste Transfer Station.
An experienced individual with a current RTITB/CITB Wheeled Loading Shovel Licence or equivalent which is valid in the UK is essential for the post. The role requires you to be able to work outside in all weathers and be physically fit to undertake heavy manual work. Knowledge of safe working practices regarding manual handling is required.
You will be required to work a rota pattern to cover the operational hours of site and work Saturdays prior to and following Bank Holidays, when required, for which overtime is paid.
