About the role
Applicants are required to join the Highway Boundaries and Land Charges team at County Hall. As post holder, you will be required to undertake research of a number of different historical records to find the documentary evidence associated with the extent of highway maintainable at public expense for roads and other land within Hertfordshire. This information will then be accurately recorded onto a computer based geographical mapping system for future reference and also be used to provide accurate responses to enquiries from the County Councils Land Charges section, external solicitors, the County Councils highway engineers and other external partner organisations.
- The ability to read and interpret maps together with a basic knowledge of Highway law is essential.
- The applicant must also have experience in Microsoft Office and other software programmes, demonstrate their IT skills and be willing to learn how to use the County Council’s geographical mapping system.
