How Caretakers make a difference in our schools...
With responsibility for the care, security, general maintenance and operational effectiveness in our schools, our caretakers have a very important role undertaking a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities from being key holders, organising contractors to carry out repairs, storage of cleaning equipment, ventilation management, grounds maintenance and much more!
To carry out this important work our Caretakers need to demonstrate a good practical working practice of the cleaning sector, have basic DIY skills and be able to work with safe working practices utilising their knowledge of health and safety procedures and hazards; and because our caretakers work with a wide range of people inside and outside the school good communication skills and the ability to handle situations sensitively is a must. Organisation is important, whether that be for the organisation of work with and through others, or for completing routine paperwork.
Find out more details about how you could make a difference as a Caretaker in the attached Job Description & Person Specification.
