We are recruiting 2 Child Care Support Workers at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours:37 Hours (7.24 Monday – Friday)
Contract Type: Full Time/Fixed Term for 24 months
Location: Ty Tredomen
This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Children’s Services Family and Friends Team.
We pay an attractive salary of £27,711 - £30,060 and offer access to training and development opportunities.
The Child Care Support Worker role involves working with children and their parents / carers to meet their outcomes, balancing outcomes with risk and safeguarding children in line with the Social Services and Wellbeing Act 2014.
The role also entails supporting Social Workers in their work, undertaking direct work with children and young people to help them understand their life journey, undertaking assessments and supervising family time between children looked after and their birth parents.
The successful applicant would need to have good time management and organisational skills and have the right values, motivation, and commitment to work in a challenging, yet rewarding environment.
For the role, we ask that you have:
- A Level 2 Care or equivalent qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales (CQFW).
- Understanding of children and young people’s behaviour, and the need for support and intervention in some circumstances.
- Excellent keyboard skills and an understanding of the need for accountability in recording accurate and timely case records.
- Experience of working with children, young people and their families.
- A Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business purposes to travel throughout the borough to attend meetings.
