Working in partnership with West Sussex County Council, we focus on promoting parking compliance through both education and enforcement, ensuring fair and effective use of on-street parking and council operated car parks.</p><p>You’ll bring your understanding of the council’s commitment to excellent customer service and community wellbeing into every interaction. You’ll act as a visible ambassador for the council, offering guidance and assistance to the public while maintaining a professional and approachable presence on the streets.</p><p>You will work in partnership with the Community protection team, the police and other agencies to reduce anti-social behaviour within Crawley Borough Council owned car parks.</p><p>Key aspects of the role:</p><ul>\n<li>Outdoor, foot-based work in all weather conditions</li>\n<li>Frequent walking and physical activity</li>\n<li>Direct engagement with members of the public, including managing challenging situations</li>\n<li>A balance of team collaboration and independent working</li>\n</ul><p>Ideal candidates will have:</p><ul>\n<li>Strong communication and customer service skills</li>\n<li>Confidence in using basic IT systems</li>\n<li>A calm, proactive approach and the ability to diffuse difficult situations professionally</li>\n<li>Due to the amount of walking, please ensure you are able to meet the physical requirements of the role</li>\n</ul><p>If you're ready to take on a new role that offers variety, public interaction, and the chance to contribute to the day-to-day life of Crawley, we encourage you to apply.</p><h4> Additional information </h4><p>You will be required to work an average of 37 hours per week.
