We have a new opportunity to join our Housing Solutions team on a fixed term two year contract to end around March 2027.&nbsp;
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Housing Solutions Prevention Officer. Your role will be to work closely with key partners on the early identification of households who might be at risk of homelessness and provide a comprehensive homelessness prevention service, using advice and guidance with the aim of finding solutions for households who are at risk of homelessness and prevent homelessness from happening.
The post holder will be required to work collaboratively with the Housing Solutions Officers, Temporary Accommodation Service, and the Allocations Service to ensure a high-quality customer focused, service is offered to all customers.
You will have recent experience of working in a homeless prevention or housing advice/options role with a local authority, Registered Social Landlord, homeless charity or similar. Above all you will be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision, possess excellent communication skills and have the enthusiasm to help others overcome their problems.

We are seeking a passionate team member to join our Corporate Debt and Housing Income team to work within a multi-skilled team that delivers essential services. Experience in debt recovery would be advantageous. While there will be inbound calls, the main responsibility will involve general debt management work, including outbound calling and ensuring timely and accurate information is collected to support the court process, which is vital for maximising the authority's financial funds.
The primary role will focus on recovering debts, including sundry debts and housing income, and working with the wider team to collect council tax and business rates (NNDR) arrears. This role requires effective communication with customers, monitoring accounts and taking appropriate recovery actions.
Applicants should have experience in a customer-focused administrative support role, demonstrate a proven ability to meet service performance targets and possess the capacity to adapt to a constantly changing environment influenced by economic stability and legislative changes. While specific experience in debt recovery is advantageous, we are also open to fast learners with excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

We have an exciting vacancy within Canterbury Children’s Social Work Service for a Team Manager. The successful candidate will be welcomed into one of our five Team’s and will be based at Brook House in Whitstable. This post will have direct line management responsibility of a team of Social Workers and a Senior Practitioner and will work closely with the other Team Managers to provide a cohesive Service across Canterbury Children's Social Work Service.
For this role, you will not only meet the conditions of the Job Description and Person Specification but will also be highly organised, flexible, and able to work in a fast paced and child focused environment. This role will also require&nbsp;you to be mobile throughout a wide operational area including travelling around Kent and beyond to support our children and young people.&nbsp;
You will be a champion of social work values, delivering and improving services for children and young people. You will allocate resources and workload and ensure the provision of cost-effective services. Your day-to-day support and high quality caseload supervision will ensure your team can meet the complex and changing demands of the service, as well as enable their ongoing development. Working in partnership with a broad range of agencies, you will contribute to the development of Children’s Services procedures and policies. And, advising on commissioning strategies, you’ll ensure that services are developed and accessible to all children, young people and families needing support, protection and intervention. &nbsp; About you &nbsp;Your social work degree – CQSW, DipSW or equivalent – must be supported by professional registration and extensive post-qualification experience. This experience should include supervision, budget management, and joint working with partners in the statutory, private and voluntary sectors. You should be confident in your ability to lead and develop a team. And, with an in-depth understanding of safeguarding procedures, legislative frameworks and social work theories relating to child services, you’ll have the expertise needed to contribute to practice and policy development. As a Move On Officer, you’ll be the key link between applicants, housing officers, and accommodation providers—making sure placements are suitable, cost-effective, and short-term. You’ll be instrumental in identifying move-on opportunities early, coordinating transitions, and maintaining regular contact with clients to keep their housing journey on track. Your work will directly contribute to reducing the reliance on TA and improving outcomes for those in housing need.
