We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) service at Bracknell Forest Council. This role focuses on housing adaptations and the progression of Disabled Facilities Grants, supporting residents to live independently and safely in their homes.

<h3>About you…</h3>
You will work closely with the DFG team, Adult Social Care colleagues, housing partners, contractors and Housing Associations. Using your occupational therapy expertise, you will ensure that adaptations are person centred, meet long term needs and are reviewed upon completion to ensure the assessed outcomes have been fully met.
You will have recent, relevant experience in major housing adaptations. You should be capable of working creatively with others to develop practical solutions where the home environment affects a person’s independence, function and wellbeing. This may also involve assessing and matching individuals to void properties when the current accommodation is unsuitable and cannot be reasonably adapted.
In addition to casework, you will also contribute to capacity building across teams by sharing your knowledge of major adaptations, legislation, eligibility criteria and associated processes.
<h3>About the team…</h3>
The Disabled Facilities Grant team is a small but busy team providing an extensive and responsive service to clients. This is a varied and interesting role ensuring projects are carried out to meet the needs of the client in the most timely, efficient and cost effective way. We support each other by working closely together to achieve the right results, and to deliver a holistic service to clients.
While the main office base is Time Square in Bracknell, this is an agile working role. Home visits and on site work will be required based on the needs of the role and service delivery.
<h3>Key responsibilities…</h3>
<ul>
<li>Undertake person centred functional assessments to identify housing related needs and recommend suitable home adaptations that promote independence, reduce risk and enable individuals to live safely in their own homes.</li>
<li>Assist in the development and review adaptation plans in partnership with service users and DFG colleagues, setting realistic and meaningful goals that support choice, control, and long term independence.</li>
<li>Work collaboratively with a range of professionals including DFG Case Workers, Surveyors, contractors, Housing Officers, Architects, Social Workers and health colleagues to ensure the effective design and delivery of home adaptations under the Disabled Facilities Grant.</li>
<li>Liaise with individuals, families and carers to ensure that proposed adaptations are necessary and appropriate to meet the client’s needs.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate, up-to-date electronic records using the council’s case management system, ensuring that assessments, decisions and outcomes are clearly documented.</li>
<li>Write clear, evidence based reports and professional recommendations to support DFG applications and specifications for adaptations.</li>
<li>Attend and contribute to multidisciplinary meetings and case discussions where housing needs and adaptations form part of broader care and support planning.</li>
<li>Make timely referrals and signpost individuals to relevant services, community support or other specialists, when needs fall outside the DFG scope or where additional support is beneficial.</li>
<li>Support the development and continuous improvement of the DFG service through involvement in audits, service planning and evaluations, ensuring the service remains responsive and effective.</li>
<li>Effectively manage a caseload, prioritising work based on risk, need and the complexity of individual circumstances, ensuring timely assessments and delivery of outcomes.</li>
<li>Work in line with safeguarding procedures to identify and reduce risks of harm, liaising with relevant professionals and escalating concerns where necessary.</li>
<li>To ensure all practice complies with the policies, procedures and standards of the council, as well as the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Code of Conduct and Standards of Proficiency.</li>
<li>To actively participate in regular supervision, individual and team performance discussions and reflective practice sessions to improve own and team practice and performance.</li>

<li>To undertake planning appeals, judicial reviews and strategy work.</li>

Wokingham Borough Council is committed to preventing and relieving homelessness in our community by securing suitable accommodation for those in need. Our team plays a critical role in ensuring that homeless households have access to safe and secure housing. We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive candidate to join our team as an Accommodation Procurement Officer. This role is essential in helping us expand our network of accommodation providers and support households in transitioning from temporary or insecure housing to more permanent solutions.


The Role
As an Accommodation Procurement Officer, you will work closely with our Homelessness Prevention Officers to secure private rented sector accommodation for households at risk of homelessness.
Please note this is a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Your main responsibilities will include:
<ul>
<li>Establishing a network of new accommodation providers. Engage with existing and prospective landlords and letting agents to expand our pool of available properties.</li>
<li>Conducting thorough property inspections.</li>
<li>Adhering to procurement processes and compliance checks.</li>
<li>Promoting the uptake of our Rent Guarantee Scheme.</li>
<li>Coordinating property viewings.</li>
<li>Managing properties under the Rent Guarantee Scheme, including conducting regular inspections and taking enforcement action when necessary.</li>
<li>Inspecting and procuring properties to meet business requirements.</li>
<li>Conducting regular visits to households.</li>
</ul>
About You
We are looking for an organised and motivated individual with a strong background in housing procurement or property management. The ideal candidate will have:
<ul>
<li>Experience working with landlords and letting agents, with a proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships.</li>
<li>A thorough understanding of property standards and regulations.</li>
<li>Strong organisational skills and excellent communication and negotiation skills.</li>
<li>A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.</li>
<li>Experience in housing management is highly desirable.</li>
</ul>
The successful candidate must hold a full clean UK driving licence and have their access to their own vehicle, as the role involves regular travel within and outside the Wokingham borough.

 About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team at Cressingham Residential Children’s Home. 
Cressingham is an expanding and thriving short break service offering overnight support, independence clubs, and after school visits to children and young people aged 8-18 years with complex needs and learning disabilities. We provide a home from home setting where children can make friends and feel safe. 
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a reputable and growing Children’s Services provider and to work in a home rated Outstanding by Ofsted! 
This position would suit someone who is currently working as a Team Leader or Deputy Manager in a Children's Service with at least 18 months experience of leading a team and looking for career progression.
 Key areas of responsibility include:
<ul>
<li>Assist Registered Home Manager in delivering a specialist service (e.g. residential or short break) over a 24-hr period, to children and young people with profound and multiple learning/physical disabilities and sensory impairments, in accordance with legislative requirements.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Under the direction of the Registered Home Manager, give strong clear and informed leadership, supervision and general management to motivate a team of Residential Child Care Practitioners, enabling them to support and empower young people through high standards of professional practice.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>To support the team to provide positive outcomes for children/young people and their families.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Under the direction and in the absence of the Registered Home Manager, to take responsibility for the efficient and effective operation of the home, ensuring that all BFfC systems, policies and procedures are adhered to</li>
</ul>
&nbsp; Minimum Requirements for this role are:
<ul>
<li>Level 4 Diploma in childcare or equivalent professional qualification</li>
<li>An undertaking to complete a relevant management qualification</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>
Experience in residential or short break care services</li>
<li>
Experience of working in the area of disability</li>
<li>Experience working with Social Services and Families</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Experience of effective risk assessment and risk management</li>
