Assistant Director of IT Delivery - Grade 13 - Starting Salary £90k p.a.
About the Job:
We are seeking a strategic leader with a strong background in IT service delivery, cyber security, and compliance to join our team as the Assistant Director of IT Delivery. This role is crucial for bridging the gap between current and new technologies, ensuring supportability and compatibility. You will be responsible for setting and implementing the strategy and operational delivery of the Council’s technology platforms, ensuring high standards of accessibility, availability, usability, and service excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership for IT Service Delivery, Cyber Security, and Compliance functions.
- Lead and inspire a talented team of IT delivery professionals.
- Maintain high standards of information governance and data protection.
- Ensure a high-quality user experience across all areas of the Council’s common technologies and workplaces.
- Develop relationships with service users at the highest level to understand and shape demand and plan the long-term strategic direction.
- Identify and promote opportunities that technology presents for the transformation of the organisation and services provided for Havering residents and businesses.
- Set the vision and strategy for IT Delivery at Havering and ensure it is embedded and understood by colleagues across the organisation.
About You
You are a visionary leader with a proven track record of delivering strategic IT services at scale. With a degree or equivalent experience and relevant professional certifications, you bring a deep understanding of technology service management, cyber security, compliance, and user experience design. You have successfully led cross-functional teams and influenced senior stakeholders to align technology delivery with organisational goals.
You possess a full range of strategic management and leadership skills, and you’re adept at navigating complex environments. Your ability to communicate the impact of emerging technologies and practices is matched by your commitment to fostering a culture of innovation, learning, and continuous improvement.
You are confident in setting and implementing strategies that enhance service delivery, data governance, and stakeholder engagement. Your leadership inspires trust, drives performance, and ensures that technology services are accessible, secure, and aligned with the needs of residents, businesses, and internal users.
