An exciting opportunity has emerged within the councils Children and Young People’s Service for the role of Job Coach (SEND) on a fixed term contract for 4 months (to be reviewed). As we continue to develop our Supported Internship provision, you will play a key part in providing and supporting our young people through these opportunities as part of an exciting new pilot.
This role will be hybrid working in partnership with education providers, young people and employer stakeholders.
The Role:
- The role of SEND Employment Support Coach will involve providing appropriate pre-work/training and in-work/training support for young people 16-25 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
- You will work with Host businesses, employers and education providers and young adults to deliver supported internship opportunities within the role of SEND Employment Support Coach
- A key aspect of the role of SEND Employment Support Coach is to conduct regular reviews and implement SMART action plans for the young people and support the young people to achieve paid employment outcomes
- For the role of SEND Employment Support Coach, you will need prior experience of working with people with disabilities and neurodiverse conditions
- Your demonstrable knowledge as a SEND Employment Support Coach, will ensure you have experience of assessing the development of young people with a learning difficulty/disability in education and/or employment
- For the role of SEND Employment Support Coach, you will have good communication skills, using a variety of appropriate media, with excellent IT Skills, including the use of MS Office - word, outlook, and excel
This role is fixed term for the purpose of a job coach role within our DFE Intern to Work pilot project and will end on 31st August 2025.
