What you will do:

We’re building a Talent Pool of passionate Caretakers &amp; Grounds Maintenance Operatives who want to help us keep our estates clean, safe, and beautifully maintained. If you’re looking for a role where your work is appreciated by thousands of residents every day, we’d love to hear from you.What you’ll do:Grounds Maintenance Operatives<ul><li>Maintain shrub beds through pruning, weeding, and leaf clearing using hand tools and machinery.</li><li>Cut grass with hand-held and ride-on mowers.</li><li>Remove litter, leaves, and debris from landscaped areas—including bins and drug-related waste.</li><li>Carry out weed and pest control, graffiti removal, and snow clearance.</li><li>Patrol parks, mark pitches, and check play areas for safety.</li><li>Support tree maintenance and help keep waterways clean and clear.</li><li>Follow health and safety procedures and wear all required PPE and uniform.</li></ul>Caretakers<ul><li>Start with lighting checks in communal areas—swap out any bulbs that need replacing.</li><li>Carry out a range of cleaning tasks across entrances, staircases, corridors, lifts, bin rooms, car parks, and podium gardens.</li><li>Litter picking, sweeping, and keeping outdoor spaces tidy and inviting.</li><li>Be the go-to person for residents when it comes to caretaking queries.</li><li>Work closely with teams like Neighbourhood Services to make sure residents’ needs are met and any concerns are reported.</li></ul>What you’ll need:Grounds Maintenance Operatives<ul><li>Experience in grounds maintenance</li><li>Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions</li><li>Skilled in using a wide range of tools, machinery, and equipment</li><li>Specialist knowledge of horticultural practices</li><li>NVQ Level 1 or equivalent</li><li>A current UK driving licence</li><li>Physically fit and able to carry out demanding tasks</li><li>Clear and polite communication skills</li></ul>Caretakers<ul><li>Experience in caretaking or cleaning.</li><li>A full UK driving licence (Essential).</li><li>Understanding of COSHH and general Health &amp; Safety.</li><li>Can confidently use powered equipment.</li><li>Manages time well and stays calm under pressure.</li><li>Communicates clearly and delivers great customer service.</li><li>Works well independently and takes initiative.</li></ul>Why Join Us?When you join Peabody, you’re joining a team guided by our values: Be Kind, Do the Right Thing, Love New Ideas, Celebrate Diversity, Keep Our Promises, and Pull Together.
