This post attracts a Market Supplement of £3,441 per annum, in addition to the annual salary, which will be paid in 12 monthly instalments.

Caerphilly Children’s Services have developed their Strategy aimed at reducing the numbers of children Looked After as set out by Welsh Government through establishing a Family and Friends Team. For the role, we ask that you have:

  • A Diploma/Degree in Social Work or predecessor qualification.
  • Successful completion of the Consolidation of Practice Programme within the first three years of practice (if qualified after 1 April 2016).

Applications may be submitted in Welsh.  Any application submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than an application submitted in English.

We are legally required to ask you to provide evidence of your right to work in the UK.  Successful applicants are required to provide appropriate documentation such as a birth certificate, passport or work permit in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006.

If you have any difficulty applying online, please contact webrecruitment@caerphilly.gov.uk for further information.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and a comprehensive screening process will be undertaken on all successful applicants.  This will include an enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service.

You must possess a Diploma/Degree in Social Work or predecessor and be registered as a Social Worker with Social Care Wales (or able to transfer from another recognised body).

The current registration requirements state that completion of the Consolidation of Practice qualification within your first 3 years of practice is mandatory (if you qualified after 1st April 2016).   Failure to successfully complete this qualification will result in you being unable to renew your Social Work Registration or practice as a Social Worker.
