We are seeking an experienced Accommodation Assessment &amp; Lettings Team Leader with a good working knowledge of managing a team responsible for offering accommodation under S188 and S193, Part 6 &amp; 7 of the Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Act 2002 and Localism Act 2011 and its application. You must have knowledge and understanding of the activities, functions and processes involved in offering suitable accommodation under S188 and S193 as well as issuing discharge of duty decisions.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the well-established and expanding MCA and DoLS Team within the Safeguarding Team at BNSSG ICB.
This role will be demanding and dynamic, reflecting the progressive growth of our service and the commitment of the ICB to fulfilling its statutory duties by innovating and embedding a "gold standard" approach within the completion of mental capacity assessments, best interests decision-making, and the Community DoLS process across the BNSSG ICB.

You will be responsible for obtaining, evaluating, and analysing complex evidence and differing views, and weighing them appropriately in decision-making. You will identify deprivations of liberty and prepare all necessary documentation on prescribed forms in preparation for submission to the Court of Protection.
You will demonstrate through your practice a strong commitment and comprehensive understanding of the Mental Capacity Act, the changing legal landscape around deprivation of liberty and safeguarding.
You will be a qualified Best Interests Assessor (BIA) and willing to undertake further training to practice as an Approved Mental Capacity Professional (AMCP) when the Liberty Protection Safeguards (LPS) become operational.
<h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
The post holder will fulfil the duties and responsibilities of Community DoLS Assessor across the ICB footprint gathering relevant information, completing all necessary assessments and submitting applications to the Court of Protection in accordance with&nbsp;Re X&nbsp;Streamlined Procedure. Such information is to include, amongst other things, completing robust capacity assessments, and legally defensible best interests assessments determining and ensuring that where deprivation of liberty occurs, they are necessary, proportionate, and in the service user's best interests. The post holder will undertake Approved Mental Capacity Professional (AMCP) conversion training, and statutory duties in connection with Liberty Protection Safeguards (LPS), when it becomes operational, within the Integrated Care Board (ICB).

To prepare all supporting documentation for Community DoLS applications under the&nbsp;Re X&nbsp;Streamlined Procedure and in particular capacity assessments and best interests decision-making, ensuring all interested parties are consulted and where appropriate identifying the need/making an appropriate referral for an IMCA/Rule 1.2 Representative. Be responsible for a caseload of Community DoLS cases as allocated by the Senior MCA and DoLS Manager.
Liaise with families and care providers in an appropriate manner, providing advice and support regarding the Community DoLS process whilst maintaining independence and ensuring the service user is at the centre of all decisions made.
To undertake assessments of capacity and best interests decision-making in line with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 on any case known to the ICB and record them to a high professional standard, that will withstand legal challenges.
Identify cases that require welfare applications to be made to the Court of Protection.
To support colleagues within the ICB in matters relating to mental capacity and best interests decision-making and provide advice and guidance as required.
To support the Senior MCA and DoLS Manager to embed a gold standard MCA practice in all ICB activities.
Provide support during the transition from the current Community DoLS arrangements to the Liberty Protection Safeguards (LPS), in accordance with the Mental Capacity (Amendment) Act 2019 and its Code of Practice, when implementation is confirmed by the Government.
Participate in project activity and lead on specific projects or pieces of work on behalf of the Senior MCA and DoLS Manager, taking responsibility for the achievement of outcomes within required timescales.
Work with colleagues to ensure that appropriate knowledge is shared within the team.

About the role
Our People and Culture team are hiring a Payroll and Pensions Administrator to join the team to support with ensuring our staff are paid efficiently, accurately, and on time. You will play a pivotal part of the team to support with the preparation and processing of monthly payroll for all, coordinating effective and efficient end-to-end payroll and pensions administration, plus any additional relevant activities. What we’re looking for Reporting to the Director of Housing Strategy, the Head of Private Sector Licencing and Home Improvement will lead a service area that provides strategic direction for the Council’s housing improvement and assistance service and the property licensing and enforcement function. This is an area of the division with big ambition, as we have recently expanded our property licencing schemes and have seen an increase in applications from residents for support from our grants, specifically the Disabled Facilities Grant. Managing a service of up to 100 staff the post-holder will lead our ambitions to work proactively within the private rented sector to drive up standards and safety for Lewisham’s residents. With expertise in the legal framework of regulation and licensing, you’ll be at the forefront of operationalising our new licensing scheme, and will maximise their impact through innovative new approaches to engaging with our residents. You will also be responsible for utilising a home assistance grant of £2million a year to support our most vulnerable residents to live in safe and secure homes from which they can live independent lives. About the role
The Industry Skills Tutor will manage a caseload of apprentices by monitoring attendance, progression, achievement and completion, organising pastoral support as required and by working with all parties involved to resolve any issues that may affect successful completion of the programmes. We are looking for a candidate with experience within Electrical industry. The Industry Skills Tutor will coordinate achievement of all aspects of apprenticeship standards or frameworks, to include quality assurance where appropriate, ensuring learners achieve on time, and in-line with college targets. The successful applicants will develop individual action plans including the setting of smart targets tailored to meet apprentices’ needs while maintaining accurate records in line with the College requirements.
The Industry Skills Tutor will;

The Land and Development team is within the Housing and Land Directorate. The Land and Development team supports GLA Land and Property Limited (GLAP), which is the Greater London Authority’s commercial subsidiary for property investment, development and assessment management. The team is responsible with the delivery of the GLAP portfolio of development on the Mayor’s land and joint venture interests, alongside entering into new opportunities to unlock development outcomes. &nbsp;
GLAP aims to deliver up to a total of 68,000 new homes on the Mayor’s land and joint venture interests, including homes delivered to date and looking ahead over the next 25 years.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Some of GLAP’s schemes include some of London’s largest regeneration projects, such as Royal Docks, Greenwich Peninsula and Barking Riverside. Sites are typically large-scale and mixed-use multi-phased development projects, working with our development partners collaboratively under development agreement delivery structures. While most sites are in contract with partners, others are in procurement, such as Royal Albert Dock. In addition to development land, GLAP holds a significant estate with investment properties, operational property and public realm.

This is a leadership role, ensuring that GLA Land and Property Limited (GLAP) is actively contributing to the delivery of Mayoral environmental sustainability and social value priorities and commitments. The Senior Sustainability Manager leads the implementation of GLAP’s Climate Action Strategy ensuring that it achieves its strategic goals and objectives. The role leads on embedding climate risk management practices within GLAP ensuring that GLAP is resilient to the impacts of climate change.

 This is a leadership role in our newly established Development Delivery team – leading on infrastructure planning with a team of two officers reporting to you. &nbsp;

 Our team need to ensure that where development is happening there is commensurate infrastructure and council services.&nbsp;

 &nbsp;This role will have autonomy to establish our approach to infrastructure planning, there are pockets of amazing practice and relationships between the planning service, the wider council, the third sector and infrastructure providers – but this role will bring all of those threads together.&nbsp;

 You will be supported by a committed senior manager to help you achieve yours and the wider council vision of success. &nbsp;

 This is a new team – so you can make your mark as a leader at Newham.&nbsp;

 The team will take over the updates to the infrastructure delivery plan and establish a network of connections internally and with external infrastructure providers to more acutely understand their business plans and investment decisions; the team will also lead on the establishment of an updated CIL infrastructure list and work with colleagues in finance to start to establish a process for prioritising infrastructure (to inform part of our ongoing iterative local plan evidence base and a material planning consideration of infrastructure sufficiency). &nbsp;

 You will be able to support the progression and adoption of the local plan at any future examination in public as an expert witness on infrastructure planning; or equivalent settings.&nbsp;

 Building relationships with developers and infrastructure providers to facilitate and unlock sites may also become part of this team’s function as things evolve during the year and beyond.  Supporting development management with infrastructure sufficiency and prioritisation judgements will also follow.&nbsp;

 The Principal Aviation Officer role will report to this post and will remain committed to the monitoring of compliance with the airport’s extant planning permission and will support the (new) Senior Infrastructure Planner and team leader to assimilate to Newham’s approach to infrastructure.&nbsp;

 The team leader will collaborate with colleagues in planning policy and the two developer contributions teams to establish a work programme – transferring tasks previously undertaken by other officers and establishing other tasks that we have not had capacity to resource. &nbsp;

 You will be confident in preparing and presenting reports to a range of audiences to inform, influence or engage on planning obligations, planning policy and site specific considerations. &nbsp;

 You will be ready to direct but also get involved with tasks alongside your svelte but mighty team. Bringing together and co-ordinating actions happening across the council you will be the anchor to initially steady this ship; but you will then be the captain that gets our infrastructure planning team moving in the right direction.&nbsp;

 You will already be a part of or quickly become familiar with a range of pan-London infrastructure planning thematic groups and in negotiation with planning policy you will become the borough’s representative for these forums.  Soon you will be leading or hosting these forums.&nbsp;
