Job Description: Cleaner

Job Title: Cleaner

Reports to: Site Manager

Hours: Part time, 10 hours per week

2 positions available with working hours of 6.00am –8.00am Monday to Friday or

3.30pm – 5.30pm Monday to Friday

Salary: £24,796 FTE (actual salary £6,701.62 based on 10 hours per week)

Main Purpose of the Job:

To maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for all pupils, staff, and visitors at St Margarets CE Primary School.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitise designated areas including classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas.
  • Perform daily cleaning duties such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and emptying waste bins.
  • Ensure all cleaning materials and supplies are stored safely and used efficiently.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Site Manager.
  • Follow health and safety procedures at all times.

Person Specification Qualifications and Training:

  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a cleaning role is desirable but not essential.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment effectively.
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices related to cleaning.

Personal Qualities:

  • Attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
