Liverpool City Region Destination Partnership (LCRDP) is the Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP) for Liverpool City Region. It is responsible for promoting the city and wider region as a global destination for visitors, conventions and investment. It is responsible for communicating the city’s brand positively and imaginatively to local, national and global audiences. It works with partners in business, cultural organisations, educational institutions and community groups to promote the city region as a great place to live, work, visit, invest and study.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;
Liverpool City Region Destination Partnership ensures Liverpool City Region can compete with other core cities, increase appeal, attract major events of national/international profile and increase visitor numbers, economic impact and global media coverage – to unlock the true potential of one of the UK’s most powerful attack brands.
As Head of Culture, you will provide strategic leadership for culture across the Liverpool City Region, working collaboratively across all six boroughs to maximise the social, cultural and economic impact of the visitor economy. You will shape and deliver a place‑based, partnership‑led programme that celebrates the region’s cultural strengths, supports businesses and communities, and positions the City Region as a leading national and international destination for culture and major events. The role will lead the development of key strategies, oversee the delivery of major cultural initiatives, secure external investment, and ensure culture is embedded across wider growth, regeneration and policy agendas in line with Mayoral priorities and the Destination Management Plan.

We are looking for a strategic, collaborative and highly credible cultural leader with a strong track record in the culture and visitor economy sector. You will bring deep experience of place‑based working, partnership development and the delivery of large‑scale cultural programmes, alongside the ability to translate vision into practical, high‑impact outcomes. Confident working across political, public, private and voluntary sectors, you will be skilled at building trust, influencing stakeholders and securing external funding. A clear communicator and persuasive advocate for culture, you will be passionate about the role culture plays in driving inclusive growth, supporting communities and strengthening the Liverpool City Region’s national and international profile.&nbsp;
You will support the objectives of the strategic framework for the visitor economy across the city region. The Destination Management Plan is the guiding compass for promotion and delivery within a new funding and governance landscape

Sefton Council’s Green Sefton Service is recruiting for an Engagement Officer to lead our Natural Alternatives team. Natural Alternatives is an inclusion programme working with adults and young people with additional needs. Participants work alongside Green Sefton’s teams, helping to deliver our programmes of community engagement, land management and nature conservation.
Green Sefton is an exciting service which manages our special coast, parks and greenspaces: from our beautiful and internationally recognised coastline which supports some of the rarest flora and fauna in the country, to coastal habitats which are rarer than rainforest, through to our historic parks and gardens, 160 other greenspaces, and our sport and recreation facilities. In total, we manage around 5,500ha of land and this includes managing both inland and coastal flood risk too.&nbsp;We are a varied service indeed!
As part of a small dedicated team, the successful applicant will be required to manage the Natural Alternatives Programme day to day and play a key a role in developing and expanding the programme to support the outcomes for participants.
Successful applicants will be required to engage with Sefton’s communities to help manage and develop Green Sefton’s green spaces including parks and coastal sites. You should have excellent communication skills, be enthusiastic ambassadors for the Service and enjoy working with people of all ages and backgrounds, specifically those with additional needs.
Experience of working with or training people with additional needs is essential for this post. Applicants should ideally be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of caring for green spaces. A background of training or working in parks and leisure management, countryside management or horticulture would be desirable.
Applicants should be capable of undertaking a range of practical tasks such as gardening, litter-picking, habitat management, general maintenance and of leading / training others in simple tasks. You will also be expected to deal with incidents and situations that may arise, working outdoors or within Green Sefton operational bases, and take responsibility for supervision of participants and staff. Knowledge of first aid would be desirable.
Applicants will be expected to work closely with site users, volunteers and community groups such as ‘Friends of’ and ‘Britain in Bloom’. Ability to organise accessible events and activities which encourage good use of the sites, ensuring visitors have a safe and enjoyable experience, will be essential.
Applicants may be expected to work some weekends, bank holidays and evenings. A full clean driving licence is essential and the postholder will be required to drive a minibus.
