From flood response to setting up emergency rest centres, the team is continuously identifying and recommending improvements to strengthen and enhance organisational resilience.<em> </em>The postholder will be responsible for writing, reviewing and exercising both council and multi-agency plans, as well as delivering training for Council staff with response and recovery roles. </p>\n<div>\n<strong>The Person</strong><br> </div>\n<div>We are looking for an individual with experience in emergency planning, crisis, or disaster management, and a proven track record of delivering training. We’re seeking someone who is calm and able to communicate confidently with a range of people in pressurised situations.</div>\n<p>The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of local authority duties under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and relevant legislation. This position has a direct role in facilitating a sustainable future for Hertfordshire, as well as allowing the county to adapt to climate change. Your role would involve working within LEADS (Landscape, Ecology, Archaeology, Design and Sustainability), a multidisciplinary environmental team.</p>\n<p>This role is a mid-level position ideally suited for candidates who already hold a degree of experience but are looking to take the next step in their career development.</p>\n<p><strong>About the role</strong></p>\n<p>We are looking for an individual with the ability and expertise to provide timely, high-quality advice and expert consultation on the flood risk, engineering designs and sustainable drainage aspects of planning proposals and applications. You will have a critical role in the Council’s response to flooding events and long-term goal to provide sustainable housing growth.
