From bath boards to hospital beds and grab rails to gantry hoists, the equipment HES provides enables Hertfordshire residents to remain living independently in their own homes or supports them and their carers by providing equipment which enables them to be discharged from hospital.</p><h4>About the role</h4><p>Our service is growing and very much in demand, and we are looking for a technician to join our busy team, delivering and installing items of equipment within client’s homes. We’re looking for people who can work flexibly and as part of a team here at Hertfordshire Equipment Service which intern supports NHS and social care colleagues in working across seven days. Must be able to drive a 3.5T vehicle and used to heavy or cumbersome equipment to deliver and fit.</p><p><strong>The working pattern will be</strong> </p><p>Tuesday to Saturday - 8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm shifts on a rota, ad-hoc overtime is also available during the week</p><h4>About you</h4><p><strong>Essential:</strong></p><ul>\n<li>Full Driving Licence with either D1, C1, C or BE category</li>\n<li>Demonstratable practical abilities</li>\n<li>Empathy to provide high levels of customer service</li>\n</ul><p><strong>Desirable:</strong></p><ul>\n<li>Experience of installing specialist equipment desirable</li>\n<li>Customer Service</li>\n<li>Face to Face client interaction</li>\n</ul><p><em>We welcome applications from candidates who currently reside in the UK with established proof of right to work documentation. You’ll be able to select your location preferences within the application form, and we’ll be in touch with you to discuss what opportunities are available in these locations.</p><p>The duties include:</p><ul>\n<li>Ensure the safety of children, parents and other pedestrians waiting to cross or whilst crossing the road.</li>\n<li>Take appropriate action when emergency or hazardous situations arise.</li>\n<li>Give clear signals to drivers, so as to stop traffic in a safe and courteous manner.</li>\n<li>Regularly assess the risks associated with operating at the crossing site.</li>\n<li>Encourage pedestrians to use the crossing point and to have regard for the needs of people with disabilities.</li>\n</ul><h4>About you</h4><ul>\n<li>No previous experience is required, and full training will be provided along with a uniform</li>\n<li>Have great customer service with children, drivers, parents, and teachers</li>\n<li>You'll need to be able to work every school day, therefore you won’t be able to take holidays in term time.</li>\n<li>Ability to communicate confidently with adults and children, therefore good interpersonal skills are required.</li>\n<li>To be able to judge and foresee hazardous situations as they occur in relation to traffic.</li>\n<li>To be able to stand throughout and walk continuously for the duration of a shift, holding a school crossing patrol sign (up to 2kg) (up to 45 minutes).</li>\n<li>A sound road sense and an awareness of the effect of weather conditions on road users.</li>\n<li>To be able to work in all weather conditions.</li>\n</ul><p>This job role is within the Operational Services, level OPS2 job profile.
