Job introduction
The Governors wish to appoint an enthusiastic and highly committed Forest School, Grounds and Eco leader to join our thriving, friendly, creative, committed and supportive school. Someone who is committed to supporting the Catholic vision of our school and has high expectations and aspirations for our children as well as our world.
The post holder will work with our wonderful children, across the age range (Year 1 – Year 6), and support individuals and groups to further their education using our Forest School, wildlife area, vegetable area as well as the wider school grounds. They will also work with children and staff to do all that we can to be carbon neutral by 2030.
Outdoor Learning and Eco work plays an important role in the life of our school and is already very well established and planned for (however there is always space for further development and opportunity for the successful candidate to make it their own). All children in Reception receive weekly Forest School sessions, children in Year 1 receive fortnightly Forest School sessions and children in Years 2 – 6 receive them half termly. Each session lasts between 2 – 2.5 hours. We have a wonderful, and well resourced, outdoor environment that includes a dedicated, and well resourced, Forest School, vegetable area, wild meadow and wildlife garden and well as a vast school field and many trees. We are proud to have received several awards for our Eco work and have regular funds to help further our work.
We would welcome applications from Forest School Level 3 practitioners, with experience and expertise across the primary age range. We are a school that is passionate about staff and individual development and wellbeing so all staff receive personalised high quality CPD and support.
The successful candidate will play an important role by supporting the Catholic ethos (even if not Catholic). They will have high expectations and contribute to a team who provide excellent teaching, learning and support for all children, always placing children at the center. They will bring a range of skills and interests that impact the school community and wider world.
Paid weeks per year: 47.36 (inclusive of holiday entitlement)
Start date: September 2025 or later if notice is needed
