We have an excellent opportunity available for a Procurement and Contracts Manager to join our Procurement and Contracts Team here at Wokingham Borough Council, on a full-time, permanent basis.
As the Procurement and Contracts Manager, you will lead and manage procurement and contract activity across the organisation. This is a key role that ensures effective provision of professional services that meet customer needs.
This role will contribute to the strategy, performance, quality control and the financial planning for specialist areas, whilst working collaboratively with key stakeholders, members and colleagues across the organisation.

Key responsibilities
- Provide functional and/or operational leadership for senior procurement specialists ensuring the provision of professional services that meet customer needs.
- Acting as member of corporate project teams - providing specialist advice and input
- Contributing to strategy, performance and quality control, and service and financial planning for specialist area(s)
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation, Members and managing key relationships e.g. with members, partners, other stakeholders
- Promotion of best practice in procurement and contract management across all services in the Council through issuance of guidance and training as required.
Skills, qualifications and experience
- Experience and excellent understanding of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and the Procurement Act 2023
- Experience in local government procurement categories
- Relevant professional qualifications such as Chartered Institute of Procurement and supply or a recognised business qualification
- Strong IT skills specifically in PowerPoint and Excel
- Experience of using e-procurement software
