Through your induction you will be introduced to the Career Progression Framework (CPF), which will help you to identify your areas of strength and any development needs.  </p><p>Medway Public Health are looking to recruit a Public Health professional who can lead and develop their drugs and alcohol treatment offer.</p><p>The Job Description will tell you about the role, but it is an exciting one. You will be joining an established and highly productive team who understands the benefits of collaborative working across organisational boundaries and disciplines. The team have a ‘can do’ attitude who put the needs of the service users frontmost. Importantly the team like working together and respect other’s expertise. You will be responsible for the department’s response to the Harm to Hope Drug Strategy and will help the Senior Responsible Officer deliver the Combatting Drugs Partnership (CDP). You will be working closely with some excellent colleagues in housing and social care who understand the impact of substance misuse on wellbeing.</p><p>The Public Health team are currently designing and commissioning an all age, age appropriate, substance misuse treatment service. </p><p>You will use your experience of working in a Public Health related field and demonstrate a deep understanding of substance misuse issues. As well as being the subject expert in the team, you will use your commissioning skills to design, commission, mobilise and performance manage that new contract. You will use your epidemiological skills to ensure that the service is in contact with and accessible to those who face the greatest risks of poor health outcomes. You will use your experience of research, evaluation and report writing to undertake health needs assessments and evaluation of interventions. </p><p>You will use your interpersonal skills to work effectively and collaboratively with partners from many different organisations and develop the work of the CDP. </p><p>You will use your organisational skills to keep track of the budget and ensure the services provide value for money. You will use your public speaking skills to deliver training and presentations to others on substance use epidemiology and interventions. Due to the nature of the work, you will be overseeing enquiries into drug and alcohol related deaths, and near fatal overdoses.
