Head of School

Brackenfield School is an area special school for the South of Derbyshire, providing an exciting and relevant education for young people with complex needs including communication and comprehension difficulties. We are looking to recruit an Instructor who will join our team to provide high quality outdoor education to visitors at Lea Green Development Centre near Matlock. If you can contribute to this successful delivery and have great customer service skills we would love to hear from you.Ideally you will have a National Governing Body coaching or instructional qualification and personal experience in climbing, caving, canoeing or hill walking – and have experience of working in an Outdoor Education or residential setting.In terms of personal qualities we are looking for someone who can join our hardworking and friendly team with a positive and enthusiastic approach, professionalism, and excellent organisational and communication skills.This role will involve weekend and overnight duties.Due to this post having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. Payment arrangements will be detailed in any contract offer made.Saturday and Sunday hours will be paid at plain time where it is part of your normal working pattern unless it is between 7pm and 7am, where enhanced rates of pay apply.
