We are recruiting a Housing Surveyor at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 37 Hours
Contract Type: Permanent/Full Time
Location: Ty Penallta / Working hours can be split between home and office depending on specific task requirements.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Asset Maintenance and Repairs Team.

Would you like to be part of a dynamic team delivering reactive repairs/planned maintenance works to our homes?
The successful candidate must have an excellent work ethic, good communication skills, and a dynamic approach to the role and be able to lead by example. You will be expected to Support the Principal Building Surveyor in the provision of a high-quality repairs and maintenance service for the Asset Maintenance and Repairs section working across a wide range of functions, contracts, work programmes and projects.
The postholder will be responsible for delivering a customer focused Response Maintenance Service in accordance with the objectives set out by the Council in its Welsh Housing Quality Standard Programme, Planned Asset Maintenance Strategy, and the Renting Homes Wales Act. You will also undertake pre and post inspections, contract duties and assist in the preparation of contract works and response maintenance.
For the role, we ask that you have:
- A relevant Level 4, 5 or 6 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales. For example, HNC, HND or Degree in Building Surveying.
- A Level 3 City and Guilds Energy Assessment Course (6361) to be an Accredited Domestic Energy Assessor and produce Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) or required to achieve following appointment.
- Knowledge of relevant Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Safe Systems of Work and Health and Safety issues relating to the post.
- A full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to attend site inspections, visit clients and attend meetings.
