We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and hardworking Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and committed team at our outstanding school.
The successful candidate will be working with pupils who have social, emotional and mental health difficulties and will be responsible for proactive behaviour management. They will be class based, each class has a teacher and two full time teaching assistants. Opportunities may arise to work on a 1-1 basis with some pupils needing additional support. The ethos of the school is based on care, responsibility and mutual respect. We use non-confrontational approaches to behaviour modification and develop the pro-social skills of the young people in our care. The ability to work as part of a team is essential.
As stated Gilbrook is a school for pupils with SEMH, all pupils have an EHCP. This job can be very challenging and you need to be aware of the pupils’ complex profiles and range of needs. In addition. you will be expected to take the time to understand the drivers behind their SEND associated needs. You will be expected to undertake training to support this role, including Team Teach and all areas of safeguarding.
We are strongly committed to extending our pupils’ horizons by engagement with outdoor learning, working with farm animals and extra-curricular activities and a range of school trips. Candidates with additional skills in these areas would be welcome to apply.

<li>The Emergency Duty Team is a Team of Well Being Advisors and Social Workers that work collaboratively with the Advanced Mental Health Practitioners (AMHP Hub) The Team is supported by an on-call senior manager rota</li>
<li>The team operates from 5pm to 8am on weekdays and 24 hours during Bank Holidays and weekends. Wellbeing Advisor will be expected to work a shift pattern out of hours</li>

An opportunity has arisen for a full time Teaching Assistant to work peripatetically with hearing impaired pupils in EYs, KS1-4.
The role is 36 hours per week, term time only and so the salary stated is the full time equivilant and will be pro-rated to reflect this.
About the role:
You will work with teachers to support the learning and education progress of child and young people with hearing impairments, with the aim of narrowing any attainment gap they have with their fully hearing peers at home or on entry to school.
You will provude assistance to so that they can access the curriculum, participate in learning, experience a sense of achievement and develop independence in learning and other aspects of school life. The candidate would be expected to travel independently to a variety of locations in the authority. The post will involve opportunities to work with children in all of the key stages and settings. The use of technology is key to the role and skills in this area must be demonstrably high.&nbsp;
