Bishops College,","locationType":3,"description":"<p>Mobile Locality Officer (Ref: MLO)<br>Starting Salary £30,957.16 p.a. </p>\n<p>We are looking for a positive, approachable, enthusiastic team player to join our mobile locality team.</p>\n<p>The team of Mobile Locality Officers are at the heart of the local community, supporting all neighbourhoods; they act as ambassadors for the Council, identifying and responding to customer needs, providing support to ensure matters are resolved quickly and efficiently.</p>\n<p>The varied duties will include dealing with a wide range of activities, such as evidence gathering, responding to customer concerns and taking action to improve the quality of residents’ lives and the environment. Other duties will include undertaking property checks, inspections at locations around the Borough, delivering documents and low-level enforcement.</p>\n<p>Applicants must have a full, valid driving licence, GCSE level at grade C/4 or above, or NVQ Level 2 in English and Maths and be confident using remote devices such as tablets. They must be flexible problem solvers who are totally committed to customer care and be able to deal with the public diplomatically in difficult situations. They must also be prepared to keep up with new legislation relating to the varied activities in the role and work occasional evenings and weekends. The role will provide a comprehensive property service to the Council and will include property management, professional work (rent reviews, lease renewals and valuations including annual asset valuations), lettings, acquisitions, disposals and project work, including redevelopment and regeneration.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>It is an exciting time to join the team as the service is expanding, with recent acquisitions totalling over £24 million. The current portfolio is valued in excess of £100 million and there are a number of forthcoming major development and regeneration projects, including the recently announced Brookfield Riverside £400million development.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The duties of the role also include assisting in the management of the Council’s innovative and award-winning housing company, Badger BC Investments.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The successful post holder will be a qualified Chartered Surveyor, in order to provide support to the Property Services Manager and Senior Estate Surveyors. The successful candidate should ideally have experience of working for a Local Authority property section although this is not essential. A calm approach in a busy environment is required, as are intermediate ICT and Microsoft Office skills.
