More specifically, you will:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>provide an advisory service to the council on the full spectrum of HR / OD matters;</li>\n<li>support and implement organisational changes and the wider Local Government Reform and devolution;</li>\n<li>develop and maintain effective relationships with management, trade unions and staff;</li>\n<li>analyse and interpret employment statistical information and trends.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>About you:</strong></p>\n<p>To succeed as Head of HR & OD, you will have a persuasive manner and considerable expertise relating to HR policies and employment conditions/ legislation, organisational change and development, including that which applies to the public sector. In addition, you must have:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>full chartered membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (Chartered MCIPD), or equivalent;</li>\n<li>experience of leading and managing change programmes;</li>\n<li>good knowledge of health and safety legislation and its application, alongside knowledge of equalities legislation and responsibilities;</li>\n<li>experience of leading a team to achieve quality service delivery.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>A main work stream for 2025/26 will be supporting the transition of the Council’s outsourced payroll to a new platform, including methods of salary related data transfer on a timely basis from HR to Payroll in an agreed format and process.
