The successful candidate should be an outstanding professional brimming with enthusiasm to make a real difference to the life chances of our pupils.</p>\n<p><strong>Job Purpose and Content</strong></p>\n<p>The Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) is a member of a team of professionals that includes teachers and other classroom support staff. The team works together to care for and educate the pupils in the school. The HLTA makes a specific subject and/or curriculum contribution to the school’s teaching and learning programme.</p>\n<p>The HTLA works under the direction and control of the headteacher, and will generally be deployed by the AHT or Year Group Leader. At all times the HLTA will work subject to the direction of a teacher within an agreed system of supervision and management.</p>\n<p>The HLTA will teach individuals, groups and whole classes either on their own or in the presence of a teacher and/or other teaching assistants.
