Our Team:
Legal Services provides a full range of services to HBC, advising on both contentious business, such as Children’s and Adults Social Care, Anti-Social Behaviour, prosecutions, licensing, contractual disputes, debt recovery, and non - contentious business, including planning, asset management work, and acquisitions.
Our apprenticeship programmes offer a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to start a career in the legal field, providing a great alternative to traditional study paths. As a Business Apprentice in Legal Operations, you’ll earn a salary while working towards a qualification and gaining hands-on experience.
In this role, you will develop your ability and learn how to support the Legal Services team by assisting with a range of tasks, such as managing administrative duties, coordinating travel arrangements and bookings, and processing invoices. You’ll learn how to secure destruction of legal documents, request and handle archived materials, and assist with the preparation of important documents, including minutes, reports, and court bundles. Additionally, you’ll gain experience in supporting lawyers by maintaining files in our bespoke case management system.
This is a unique opportunity to be involved in the heart of our community, gain valuable insight into how Legal Services operate, and contribute to supporting local people across Halton and beyond.
Hours: 37 per week
Your Contributions:
- At least 4 GCSEs (grade 4+), including Maths and English Language.
- Strong communication skills, good numeracy, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well in a team and seek guidance when needed.
- Confident using IT, particularly Word and Excel.
- Well-organised with effective workload planning.
- Flexible, proactive, and creative in problem-solving.
- Enjoys collaborating and contributing innovative ideas.
