<ul>
<li>Coordinating and monitoring the Council’s capital accounts and programme</li>
<li>Maintaining the capital asset register and calculating asset rentals</li>
<li>Advising on capital finance and accounting matters</li>
<li>Liaising with internal teams, external auditors, and valuers</li>
<li>Preparing and monitoring revenue budgets and final accounts</li>
<li>Leading on Section 106 records and IFRS16 lease accounting</li>
<li>Supporting capital bids and government returns</li>
<li>Deputising for the Group Accountant – Capital when needed</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>The Person</strong></p>
<p><strong>Essential:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Part-qualified CCAB or full AAT, or equivalent experience</li>
<li>At least 2 years’ experience in capital accounting and budgeting within a local authority</li>
<li>Strong grasp of capital accounting regulations and financial systems</li>
<li>Proficient in Excel and Word</li>
<li>Excellent communicator and collaborator</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Desirable:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience with capital appraisal techniques and alternative funding sources</li>
<li>Awareness of current developments in local government capital accounting</li>
</ul>
