The Asset Information Management (AIM) team are responsible for the development of DWP’s Building Information Management strategy, associated documentation, project requirements and assurance management. The team are responsible for governance and subsequent assurance on project work which supports the data needed by Asset Management colleagues.

Key accountabilities
Asset Information Management Support
- Support the capture, review, validation and maintenance of asset information across the DWP Estate.
- Assist with the management of BIM datasets, asset registers, information trackers and associated records.
- Manage the team to assure asset information submissions, identify gaps, inconsistencies, duplication or non-compliance with agreed information standards.
- Support the development and maintenance of structured asset information needed for operational, compliance and lifecycle management purposes through leveraging ISO19650.
- Help ensure that asset information is reliable, traceable and suitable for use by Estates, FM, project delivery and operational stakeholders.
- Responsible for facilitating the effective transfer of asset information from project delivery into Facilities Management and operational teams, ensuring that asset data, models, drawings and technical documentation are complete, accurate and fit for purpose to support operation, maintenance, compliance and lifecycle management of the estate.
BIM and Information Assurance
- Support the application of BIM and information management principles across relevant Estates projects and programmes.
- Assist in checking supplier and project information submissions against agreed requirements, including information deliverables, naming conventions, metadata and documentation standards.
- Contribute to assurance activity linked to project handover, O&M information, drawings, models, asset data and related documentation.
- Identify information quality issues and support corrective actions with project teams, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Help promote compliance with relevant standards and good practice, including ISO 19650 principles where applicable.
Data Quality and Information Governance
- Manage data quality checks to improve the accuracy, completeness and consistency of asset information.
- Maintain trackers, logs and evidence records to support auditability and assurance.
- Support the development of standardised processes, templates and guidance for asset information management.
- Assist in monitoring the status of information deliverables, actions, risks and dependencies.
- Escalate recurring data or process issues to AIM Team leadership with clear evidence and suggested corrective action.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders across Estates, project delivery, FM, commercial, compliance and operational teams.
- Liaise with suppliers and delivery partners to resolve information queries and improve the quality of submissions.
- Support conversations with key stakeholders to clarify requirements, gather evidence and progress outstanding actions.
- Communicate information issues clearly, using structured updates, trackers and concise written summaries.
- Contribute to a culture of openness, consistency and continuous improvement across AIM activities.
Reporting and Continuous Improvement
- Support the preparation of progress updates, dashboards, summary reports and management information for AIM Team leadership.
- Identify opportunities to improve information processes, reduce duplication and strengthen governance.
- Contribute to lessons learned activity and continuous improvement reviews.
- Support the development of practical tools, checklists and guidance that help embed AIM requirements across projects and operations.
- Promote the use of accurate asset information as a strategic enabler for better estate management and decision-making.

Person specification
Essential Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Strong knowledge of Asset Information Management (AIM), Building Information Management (BIM) and Information Management principles, including ISO 19650, the IMI Framework, Government Soft Landings (GSL) and Golden Thread approach.
- Experienced in developing, managing, reviewing and assuring structured asset information, technical documentation and BIM data, including 3D model reviews and validation against defined information requirements.
- Skilled in asset data validation, quality assurance, information governance, audit activities and compliance monitoring, with the ability to identify risks, inconsistencies, gaps and non-conformities within information submissions.
- Proven ability to develop and improve processes, controls and governance arrangements that support compliance, reporting, analytics, trend analysis and continuous improvement.
- Strong analytical and investigative skills, capable of assessing technical information and data to support evidence-based decision-making and organisational objectives. This should include visualising this for senior leadership
- Experienced in multidisciplinary estates, construction, facilities management and asset management environments, promoting best practice and ensuring adherence to policies, standards and procedures
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, suppliers, consultants, delivery partners and senior leaders, and confidently present complex information to a variety of audiences
- Highly organised, proactive and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate activities, support colleagues and deliver high-quality outcomes to demanding timescales.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, SharePoint and digital information management platforms, including Power BI, with experience maintaining records, dashboards, trackers, reports and performance insights.
Desirable
- Strong experience using and managing information within Common Data Environments, including the associated processes, controls and day-to-day information governance requirements.
- Awareness of Government Soft Landings and the importance of operational outcomes from project delivery, and an understanding of the need for O&M documentation, as-built information, asset registers as part of project handover requirements.
- Experience developing or contributing to BIM strategy principles for a large-scale estate, preferably within a government department or similarly complex organisation.
- Experience dealing with technical, legal or regulatory issues at both policy and practical delivery level.
- Experience developing procurement strategies for new technologies within government procurement frameworks.
- Experience supporting the integration of asset information outputs into operational systems, business-as-usual processes and estate management functions.
Qualifications/professional memberships

- Applicable Degree or suitable Industry experience (e.g. Architecture Degree or Post Graduate, MSc Mechanical & Electrical Engineering and Design, or Government Soft Landings).
- Relevant Project Management Qualification (e.g. PRINCE2)
