We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Senior Building Surveyor to join our dynamic team, on a permanent, full-time basis.&nbsp;&nbsp;

A main part of your role will be focusing on the professional building surveying of the council's temporary accommodation stock. You will also oversee the day-to-day repairs, manage voids, ensure cyclical compliance and coordinate capital works and Disabled Facilities Grants (DFGs).
The Senior Building Surveyor will also be responsible for ensuring projects are effectively procured and that they meet statutory and legislative requirements, delivering value for money and adhering to our internal governance policies and procedures.&nbsp;
<h3>About the team...</h3>
Our dynamic Housing Management team provides an extensive and responsive property management service to homeless clients in temporary accommodation. As part of the Welfare and Housing service, our team collaborates closely to achieve the best outcomes and deliver a comprehensive service to those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. You will engage in varied and rewarding work every day, making a real difference in people’s lives.
<h3>Key responsibilities...</h3>






You will lead the preparation of specifications and contract conditions for tendering works. This includes coordinating with our main term contractor and service contractor for repairs and specialist projects.&nbsp;
You will inspect and assess repair requests, such as damp and mould, providing technical advice on solutions. You will also conduct property inspections to determine when components need replacement and advise regarding inclusion of works within Planned Maintenance Programmes.
You will undertake inspections relating to health and safety issues, noting any deviation from regulatory or legislative requirements or construction standards.






The Senior Building Surveyor will manage and monitor contractors and consultants, addressing any issues independently when standards are not met.
A main part of the role will also be the provision of technical approval for Disabled Facility Grant applications and oversee the associated works, including progress and final inspections.

Princes Hall are seeking an exceptional individual to lead the Sales and Events activities at the venue.&nbsp;
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading on all activities relating to venue hiring, box office operations and marketing activities, managing a team of four permanent and two casual staff.&nbsp;
They will be responsible for acting as the primary contact for main hall hirers from initial enquiry through to the event itself, coordinating other departments to ensure smooth delivery of events. They will build relationships with other organisations, community groups and local businesses with the intention of developing new business for the venue.&nbsp;&nbsp;
The postholder will be responsible for co-ordinating the sales and marketing activities at the venue. Alongside the Venue Manager, they will set all marketing strategies for the venue and work with the Sales &amp; Marketing Officer to deliver effective marketing campaigns.&nbsp;&nbsp;
They will ensure that the Sales and Events team maximise income generation to the venue through ticket sales, hiring income, sponsorship, advertising, donations and Friends membership.&nbsp;
The postholder will also be responsible for overseeing event bookings at several of the Council’s community centres.&nbsp;

About the role:
Are you passionate about making a difference in people’s lives through housing? Horsham District Council is looking for a dedicated Housing Officer (Landlord Services) to join our dynamic Housing Services team.
As a Housing Officer (Landlord Services), you will manage a diverse portfolio of properties and tenants, working with private landlords and our council housing company. You will play a crucial role as the vital link between our customers and landlords, helping to ensure safe, affordable, and well-managed housing within our district.
You will be responsible for:
<ul>
<li>Managing tenancies and ensuring both tenant and landlord obligations are met, as outlined in the tenancy agreements.</li>
<li>Supporting a diverse clientele by utilising outreach services to encourage tenancy sustainment.</li>
<li>Facilitating timely rent collection from tenants and working with outreach services in times of financial hardship.</li>
<li>Procuring new private sector landlords to participate in either the Council’s Private Rented Sector or Private Sector Leasing Schemes.</li>
<li>Working closely with the wider Housing Services team, which handles homelessness, the housing register, and the delivery of new affordable homes.</li>
</ul>
About you:
To succeed as Housing Officer (Landlord Services), you will be a solution-focused, people person, with the ability to build rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences. You will have:
<ul>
<li>Proven experience working within private lettings or a housing association environment.</li>
<li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills</li>
<li>Competence in IT and excellent attention to detail</li>
<li>The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.</li>
</ul>
As this position is an essential car user role, you will be required to travel around the District and therefore a full and current UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential.
