Our Team:The Match/Event Safety Officer holds ultimate responsibility for safety during events where the Stadium’s Safety Certificate is in force and has the authority to take any action necessary to protect those on site.A critical part of the role involves developing and reviewing all relevant health and safety policies, contingency plans, and risk assessments. These documents are essential in maintaining high safety standards and supporting a proactive safety culture.Hours: 7.5 per weekYour Contributions:The role requires close collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior officers within the Council, elected members, emergency services, national governing bodies, and other key partners.<ul><li>The role will act as the Council’s representative at relevant external meetings and forums relating to stadium safety.</li><li>You will undertake routine inspections and audits of the stadium and associated work activities must be conducted to ensure compliance with legislation covering health and safety, fire safety, and counter-terrorism.</li><li>You will also be responsible for advising the Stadium management team on how to meet their health and safety obligations, identifying training needs, and, developing and delivering bespoke training programs. We are seeking to recruit a part time individual to join our busy and friendly Environmental Health team. Reporting to the Principal Environmental Health Officer, you will be primarily focused on food safety including carrying out inspections, investigating complaints and reports of food poisoning. For this you will need to meet the minimum competency requirements laid down in the Food Law Code of Practice.
In addition, we welcome candidates with experience in the enforcement of health and safety legislation whether that was earlier in your career or more recently.
The Borough covers the suburban towns and villages of Epsom, Ewell, Stoneleigh, Worcester Park and part of Cheam, which are well serviced via direct links to the capital and elsewhere in the region. Epsom is the home of the Derby and together with a busy town centre has many parks and open spaces giving the Borough a balanced feel of urban and more rural areas.

We’re looking for a proactive and strategic Resilience Officer&nbsp;to lead our emergency preparedness and business continuity efforts.
In this pivotal role, you’ll ensure the Council meets its duties under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, coordinating our emergency planning, response, and recovery. You’ll be the go-to expert for resilience - shaping plans, leading training, and representing the Council at key forums.
