Job Introduction

Healthcare Assistant/Receptionist

Location: Chesterfield Royal Hospital

Salary: Band 3-4

Requirement:

  • Foundation degree Assistant Practitioner or other Health and Social care accreditation.
  • NVQ level 3/4 in care or equivalent.
  • Experience in phlebotomy, cannulation and electrocardiogram.
  • Experience working in an Urgent Care Centre (UCC), Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC), Emergency Department (ED).

As a Healthcare Assistant/Receptionist you will:

  • Undertake specific skills to include, amongst others: phlebotomy, cannulation, electrocardiogram (ECG), bladder scanning, recording of vital sign measurements and wound care/closure using aseptic technique
  • Undertake validation and follow up assessment post eTriage/ manual triage
  • Ability to recognise the acutely unwell patient and escalating promptly to the clinician in charge
  • Welcome patients as they arrive at the Urgent Care Centre.
  • Assist in general administrative and clerical duties and maintain manual/computerised records as required.
  • Assist registered professions in administrative duties including data entry and use of IT systems
