<p><strong>About the Role:</strong><br>We are looking to recruit someone with a full HGV Class 2/C &amp; E driving licence to help us cover a variety of duties within Refuse &amp; Recycling. You will be working towards or willing to undertake CPC training.</p>
<p>As a Reserve Driver you will undertake the collection of waste and recycling within the borough of Reigate and Banstead. It is essential you have a flexible approach to the work and hours. Your main duty will be driving for us although when required, you must be willing to work as a loader covering any service within the Neighbourhood Services team.</p>
<p>Some of the duties include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Undertake either working alone or as part of a team, the collection of Waste and Recycling services at a variety of locations throughout the Borough.</li>
<li>Use the waste management systems (Bartec) to complete rounds and report issues.</li>
<li>Receive instructions regarding exempt collections, special arrangements and specific collection points and ensuring these are carried out.</li>
<li>When disposing of Waste, abide by the rules set out by the allocated transfer station.</li>
<li>Advise the public on the Borough’s Refuse, Recycling and Cleansing regime where necessary.</li>
<li>If no driving duties are available, undertake loading duties and undertake ad hoc duties as required, within the scope of the job.</li>

<li>You will have the commitment to start the day at 6am and work a 45-hour week Monday to Friday.</li>

Our Programme Facilitators deliver the Accredited Programme Building Choices. You will be delivering groupwork and individual work to people subject to Community Orders or on licence after release from prison. These programmes are designed to support people to desist from crime, help people build on their strengths and lead more fulfilling and pro-social lives. You will be working with people who have perpetrated domestic abuse, sexual abuse and/or committed other violent and acquisitive offences. We are seeking a Senior Environmental Health Officer (Port Health) with recent operational experience in port health to join our frontline team. &nbsp;This is a vital role safeguarding food safety, animal health and public health at one of the UK’s busiest ports of entry.</p><p>Key responsibilities:</p><ul><li>implement official controls at the border in accordance with UK legislation</li><li>conduct inspections, sampling and documentary checks of imported goods, including products of animal origin and food not of animal origin</li><li>enforce food safety legislation and international health regulations, including mosquito surveillance</li><li>verify certificates of organic products at the point of import</li><li>provide expert advice and guidance on communicable disease control matters at London Gatwick Airport</li><li>lead on port health matters and support the wider team through training and mentoring</li></ul><p>About you:</p><ul><li>professionally qualified Environmental Health Officer with a degree or diploma in environmental health</li><li>registered with the Environmental Health Officer’s Registration Board (or equivalent)</li><li>recent operational experience in port health is essential</li><li>experience in food safety and health and safety is highly desirable</li><li>strong working knowledge of UK legislation and a proactive approach to enforcement, education, and public health protection</li><li>confident in providing leadership, guidance and support to colleagues</li></ul><p>Why join us?<br>Crawley is a thriving borough with a dynamic business district and excellent transport links, including its close proximity to Gatwick Airport.
