This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Community Services team and work with the adaptations and rehousing teams across Waverley &amp; Guildford.&nbsp; We need a motivated and well organised professional to enhance and grow the services provided to disabled persons in both boroughs.

We are seeking an experienced professional to join the Bereavement Services Team as a Burial Grounds Officer.&nbsp;
In this role, you will support the Bereavement Services Cemetery Grounds Maintenance Team Leader to ensure that each burial follows the Cemetery Operatives Training Scheme standards for effective, efficient and safe burials, that lead to smooth funeral services that meet the cultural needs of clients.&nbsp;
You will also have a major role in improving and maintaining the burial grounds and crematorium to a standard reflective of the importance and benefits that green spaces provide to the bereaved and other site users.&nbsp;
In this role, you will be required to work at Worthing Crematorium, Adur &amp; Worthing Cemeteries and closed churchyards. Ideally you will have bereavement grounds related experience but must be a good communicator, a problem solver, have an adaptable approach to work and provide a high standard of customer care.&nbsp;

The role will be supporting the Street Cleansing Manager in upholding the highest standards of regulatory compliance and operational excellence across the street cleansing fleet.
About you:
As the Fleet Officer you will be responsible for supporting the council’s Transport Manager with the management of any Operator’s Licence and appropriate audit systems to document compliance.
Monitor and develop a working partnership with the Waste Collection Contractor to ensure timely maintenance of the Council’s fleet and ensuring drivers and service managers are adequately trained to meet statutory requirements for operating front line service vehicles.
We’re looking for someone with:

Customer Service Adviser (First Line - Front Desk) - Fixed term Contract until 31st March 2026

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, professional and confident individual who thrives on providing great customer service to work in our busy reception area.
In this role you will often be the first point of contact for our customers and will need to be able to make them feel welcome and listened to. You will need to provide customers with information about our wide ranging council service areas and other teams on site. This may be face to face, on the telephone and using our IT systems to resolve customer enquiries effectively.
Customers who contact us can be vulnerable, frustrated or distressed, so high levels of personal resilience and sophisticated communication skills are essential.
Previous customer service experience and knowledge of Council business would be useful, but training will be given. We are looking for a hardworking, adaptable adviser committed to ensuring excellent customer service, even when the council is unable to provide the resolution the customer desires.
Advisers are often approached for input when the Councils are looking to improve services, so the right applicant will be comfortable in actively assisting in continual service improvement work.

This is a newly created, senior leadership role, arriving at a pivotal moment for Adur &amp; Worthing Councils. We're seeking a proactive and agile individual ready to roll up their sleeves and make a tangible difference to the lives of our residents. We need a leader who can guide and empower teams through significant transformation. Your ability to collaborate effectively with service leaders and external partners, transcending traditional departmental boundaries, will be essential in enhancing vital council services that support all our communities, particularly the most vulnerable. This is also a critical period as we prepare for Local Government Reorganisation (LGR), and you will be instrumental in navigating this transition.
You will be adept at organising and driving complex strategy and policy challenges, embedding them across the organisation through active participation from all stakeholders, including our partners and communities. With a significant volume of new government legislation on the horizon, your capacity to connect these reforms, distil their meaning, and communicate them effectively will be paramount. We highly value curiosity, creativity, and kindness. This role demands a blend of "fixing the basics" whilst simultaneously championing innovative solutions.
Reporting directly to the Director for Housing and Communities, this role sits within the Housing and Communities Directorate. It's about creatively solving problems and transforming our ways of working to manage and reduce cost and demand pressures, ultimately building greater resilience within our services. A strong focus on people – both our residents and our teams – will underpin all your efforts. You will lead the delivery of key cross-directorate programmes and strategies, including the Housing Strategy, Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy, and the Adur Homes Improvement Plan. You will have the autonomy to develop and shape these reforms, ensuring alignment with our vision and fostering a stronger emphasis on prevention and early intervention.
You'll also be a key champion for our new operating model, which places digital and data at the heart of everything we do.
