About the role
We are looking for a Deputy Service Manager to join our team based in Croydon, providing leadership and line management to a team of night staff which is around 10 people in total. You will provide support and supervision sessions at night, and general leadership to the team so they feel empowered to be productive and perform well within their roles. You will further ensure a quality service is delivered in line with our contractual requirements to the residents. You will be responsible for creating a psychologically informed environment (PIE) with person centred support during all hours. You will work closely with the day teams to ensure a smooth handover from the day to night.&nbsp;
This service is a Forensic Mental Health provision for 27 people across 4 sites in Croydon. For your own personal safety, you will require to have access to your own transport as you will need to travel between our 4 sites during the night shift to provide managerial support to the teams. The teams support our residents with person centred support, to empower them to overcome their personal barriers with their mental health, to have greater independence and fulfilled living. The service is responsible for holding various activities, group sessions, and one to one support to enable residents to build their personal skills and experiences to achieve their goals.&nbsp;

<li>Previous leadership experience</li>
<li>Ability to motivate and empower a team to achieve service KPI's through direct leadership</li>
<li>Ability to provide advice, support and guidance to a team on all aspects of the service such as resident related enquiries which can include housing, mental health support, signposting</li>
<li>Ability to promote the service externally to enhance reputation in the area and with partner organisations</li>
<li>Willingness and ability to work flexibly to meet service needs</li>
<li>IT Proficiency, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to navigate and learn new case management systems and other types of organisational software</li>
<li>Understanding and/or practical knowledge of the social and societal marginalisation that can be attached to people with mental health issues, addiction, exploitation, homelessness and within the criminal justice system&nbsp;</li>

Benefits Assessment Officer - Grade 3

<h2>Job Profile</h2>
We are looking for an experienced Benefits and Local Council Tax Support&nbsp;assessment officer to join our team.
We are transitioning from a Case/Specialist operating model to a more conventional structure.&nbsp; The successful candidate will be a valued member of our new team.
You will help financially vulnerable residents, whilst ensuring fraud and error is minimised.&nbsp; Maximising the money available to help those who need help from public funds.
This role could be for you if you meet the following essential requirements:
Knowledge and Experience
<ul>
<li>A minimum of 1 years’ experience in new claims processing and change of circumstances</li>
<li>Current knowledge of benefits legislation and regulations, as a result of working in benefits within the last 24 months</li>
<li>Well evidenced experience of providing good customer service</li>
<li>Demonstrable knowledge of relevant legislation.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Proven experience of working under pressure, whilst staying calm and keeping accuracy</li>
</ul>
Skills
<ul>
<li>Able to communicate complex information effectively, both verbally and in writing</li>
<li>Able to analyse information and establish next steps.&nbsp; Including when to escalate a case.</li>
<li>Able to be accurate, detailed and professional in approach to work</li>
<li>Able to provide a full response that pre-empts the next question</li>
<li>Able to work both collaboratively and independently, checking in as necessary</li>
<li>Able to manage own time effectively.</li>
</ul>
If you can also meet the following desirable criteria – that would be great:
<ul>
<li>Experience of Civica OPENRevenues and Civica OPENWorkflow</li>
<li>IRRV Technician Qualification or Higher</li>
<li>Experience of training or mentoring others with less knowledge or experience.</li>
</ul>

<li>Deliver high levels of customer service alongside prompt and accurate assessment of claims.</li>

This role is classed as Agile. &nbsp;You will need to be in the office full time during any initial training period.&nbsp; After that the successful candidate will be able to work from home part of the working week on a rota basis with colleagues. &nbsp;Our usual office/home working split is 50/50.
A basic DBS check will be required upon appointment.
