<p>Do you want to be part of our Electrical Testing and Compliance Team, ensuring Brighton and Hove City Council&nbsp;Housings electrical installations meet the requirements of the Wiring Regulations? Do you want to focus on your trade and not sourcing materials, writing quotes or chasing customers for payment? Do you have a full drivers licence? Do you have a City and Guilds level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installations?</p>

<h2>About the role</h2><h3>You will carry out high-standard electrical&nbsp;upgrades and testing both in our&nbsp;residents’ homes and in communal areas. Delivering high customer service and meeting all safety, quality and cost control standards.</h3><p>You will mainly be working in occupied properties within the Brighton and Hove area either on your own or in a small team. The key tasks will be:</p><ul>
<li>Upgrading electrical installations in both communal and domestic settings&nbsp;to ensure they meet the requirements of the Wiring Regulations</li>
<li>Testing electrical installations in both communal and domestic settings producing certification as necessary (including EIC's, EICRs etc.)</li>
<li>Detecting, locating and diagnosing faults&nbsp;</li>
<li>Rewiring circuits or full installations as necessary</li>
<li>Working with asbestos (you will be fully trained and equipped&nbsp;to work on non notifiable non licenced asbestos)</li>
<li>Installing full smoke detection and gateway system</li>
<li>Producing Smoke Detection certification</li>

<p>Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is term-time only. For part time applicants, where your working week is less than the council’s basic 37 hour week, contracted overtime rated pay will not form part of your working hours. This is because overtime rated pay is payable for hours worked in excess of the council’s basic 37 hour week. Your starting salary will be pro rata based on the basic annual salary elements of pay between £33,366 &amp; £37,938.</p>

The role will involve visiting all Temporary Accommodation properties carry out inspections of the stock and gardens ensuring that they are being kept to a decent standard.
