To receive and investigate applications from people who are homeless or threatened with homelessness, ensuring that applicants housing and support needs are assessed and met in accordance with the Council’s statutory duties and policies.&nbsp;
Duties and responsibilities will include:
<ul>
<li>Complete visits to temporary accommodation properties within the Dartford Borough and out of borough</li>
<li>Meet with the families/individuals living in the temporary accommodation to gain update of their circumstances and offer support, guidance and assistance</li>
<li>Produce a comprehensive visiting report and upload to the customers housing application and ensure robust data entry for statistical reporting purposes.</li>
<li>Escalate any safeguarding concerns to management and report accordingly</li>
<li>Investigate housing disrepair issues including damp and mould and report to temporary accommodation providers / Dartford Borough Council repairs team and follow up to ensure repairs are remedied</li>
<li>Investigate complaints regarding temporary accommodation standards and liaise with temporary accommodation providers to escalate concerns</li>
<li>Provide applicants with comprehensive advice on the full range of housing options available to them taking into account their needs and aspirations</li>
<li>Work in partnership with the wider housing solutions team to create viable housing solutions that provide pathways into alternative housing where homelessness was not able to be prevented</li>
<li>Develop and maintain close working relations with a broad cross-section of council services and partners in order to encourage joint working and secure the assistance and support that is required with applicants housing issues.</li>

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a new service which works with offenders as they are released from prison. It is a community based setting, rather than custodial where residents can go out in the community, depending on their Licence restrictions. Join our team as a Housing Lead to play a major part in supporting our residents with their long term housing needs. You will act as a bridge between various housing stakeholders and residents, to ensure a tailored move on plan is put in place which meets the needs of all. We thrive to ensure our residents have the right access to resources and tools to support them in reintegrating into the community, and re-establishing relationships to support with their rehabilitation.&nbsp;
Responsibilities include:
<ul>
<li>Act as the main point of contact between landlords, housing associations, local authorities, private landlords, wider Social Interest Group Services, and our residents</li>
<li>Work with the wider team to support residents with their long term needs</li>
<li>Provide specialist support to the wider team to ensure they are regularly trained and kept up to date with policies and procedures, including government changes</li>
<li>Provide regular reports and updates</li>
<li>Manage current resident tenancies, ensuring timely rent payment</li>
<li>Support with property and building management and maintenance including scheduling repairs</li>
</ul>
About you
We're looking for someone who has knowledge on different types of tenancies, an understanding of the types of needs of our resident group, and able to provide tailored solutions to meet their long term goals. You will have a true passion to support in making a change, supporting rehabilitation, and providing opportunities to people to make positive changes to their lives, and reintegrate into society. You will have a general understanding of the criminal justice system, and/or have experience supporting people with multiple/complex needs. Further, you will have:

<li>Previous experience in coordinating/delivering activities and interventions with people from different backgrounds</li>
<li>Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds and/or a good understanding of the sector</li>
<li>Knowledge of risk management and risk assessment</li>
<li>Knowledge of license conditions and public protection</li>
<li>Knowledge of tenancy management, able to share knowledge with others in the team and residents</li>
<li>Understanding of the housing and social needs of people with multiple and complex needs</li>
<li>The ability to use, learn and adapt to IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft and other software programs.</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and oral. Ability to form and build effective relationships and rapport with others</li>
<li>Ability to influence and negotiate positive outcomes with others</li>
<li>Proactive in making decisions</li>

To help us deliver an exceptional service, we are looking for a Resident Liaison Officer to join the Housing Property Services, Major Works and Direct Delivery team. Key Responsibilities: Our Resident Liaison Officers are the first point of contact for queries regarding planned works to our properties.&nbsp; You will be responsible for effectively communicating with a range of stakeholders in relation to all planned works, which will involve consultation, providing support and advise to residents and leaseholders, as well as visiting construction sites, public venues and residents’ own homes. You will need excellent customer service, negotiation and partnership skills to aid in the delivery of a number of important maintenance and upgrade works. You will attend and provide administrative support for meetings and consultation events, which may require some evening and weekend working. You will assist in producing communication and literature for tenants as well as monitoring tenant satisfaction. You will assist the Senior Resident Liaison Officer in producing the Stakeholder Engagement Strategy for all planned works, communicating with residents, leaseholders, Project Managers, Contractors, Lead Members and Councillors You will work in collaboration with a range of different services including the Repairs Team, Asset Management, Compliance as well as a range of internal teams including our Communications &amp; Media teams, Complaints and Housing Services. What we are looking for: <ul>
<li>An effective communicator with a professional and customer-orientated approach, an individual with experience in a customer service, housing or related service delivery area.</li> <li>Administrative/clerical and IT experience, you will need to be confident using social media and remote communication, such as Microsoft Teams.</li> <li>Flexible and open to change, prioritising your workload to meet deadlines/objectives, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and others.</li> <li>A team player – experience working both independently and as part of a team.</li> <li>You must have a good general level of education (to GCSE standard) and a full driving licence with access to a vehicle for work.</li> </ul> * This is a field working post with travel required. Senior Homeless Officers

We are recruiting for permanent and fixed term Senior Homeless Officers to join our very busy Homeless Team, which has the responsibility for the prevention of homelessness and carrying out all the Council’s statutory homelessness duties.
As well as managing more complex cases as directed, and working with other voluntary and statutory partners, you will also be responsible for undertaking statutory Reviews and appeals in line with Part VII Housing Act 1996 (as amended).
You will provide senior officer case support to the Housing Solutions Officers within the team, ensuring that casework quality is of good quality and meets all necessary legal standards outlined in the Act and the associated code of guidance as well as deputising for the Housing Casework Manager as required.
To be successful, you should have experience of working with vulnerable people and other agencies and have knowledge and experience of housing - especially the legislation and statutory duties for local housing authorities working with homelessness.
The successful candidates will be based mainly at the Civic Centre in Chelmsford, working 37 hours per week, but will be required to work away from the office for some of the time. Hybrid working will become available once the successful applicants have been fully trained.
