Contract terms

Starting salary: SC6 (£35,520 – £36,585) – SO1 (£38,256 – £39,276)
Work location:
Alexandra house, 10 Station Road, Wood Green, London, N22 7TR
Hours per week: 36 per week
Contract type: Permanent

About the role

As an Employee Relations Advisor, you will provide first-line HR advice and support to managers and employees across a range of employee relations matters, including absence management, capability, disciplinary, grievance, probation, redundancy, redeployment, workplace resolution and organisational change. You will support the management of employee relations cases, prepare case documentation, coordinate formal meetings and hearings, maintain accurate case records and contribute to ensuring legally compliant and consistent people management practices across the organisation.

About the team

You will be part of the Human Resources & Organisational Development team within the Culture, Strategy and Communities Directorate. The Employee Relations team works closely with managers, employees, trade unions, legal services and HR colleagues to deliver a professional, responsive and coordinated HR service. The team is committed to supporting positive employee relations, promoting best practice and continuously improving services across the Council.

About you

You will have experience providing HR or administrative support, managing sensitive and confidential information and dealing with a range of enquiries in a professional manner. You will possess excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and build positive working relationships with a variety of stakeholders. A CIPD Level 3 qualification, working towards CIPD accreditation, or equivalent relevant experience is desirable, alongside knowledge of employee relations processes and a commitment to delivering high-quality customer-focused HR support
