<p><strong>Job Title:</strong> Assistant HR Officer<br><strong>Starting Salary:</strong> £25,583 progressing to £28,141 per annum (pro rata for part time)<br><strong>Hours:</strong> 20 - 4 hours a day over 5 days<br><strong>Location:</strong> Stevenage - Robertson House - Hybrid – Office Days Tue &amp; Wed<br><strong>Contract Type:</strong> Permanent<br><strong>Directorate:</strong> Resources</p><h4>About the team</h4><p>Join our dynamic Trans Admin Team as a HR Assistant Officer and play a key role in delivering exceptional payroll services to Hertfordshire County Council and a range of valued clients</p><p>This role forms part of an experienced team, who work in a fast-paced environment and are dedicated to delivering the payroll service to approximately 29,000 employees across various companies.</p><p>You’ll not only help deliver this important service, but you’ll also be encouraged to spot and suggest ways we can make our processes even better.</p><h4>About the role</h4><p>In this role will be responsible for processing a variety of essential documentation, including timesheets, mileage claim forms, pension opt-in and opt-out requests, and tax forms. You will also produce employment references, formal letters, and statutory forms such as SSP1s. In addition, you will handle incoming telephone enquiries, providing a professional and helpful first point of contact.&nbsp;</p><h4>About you</h4><p><strong>Essential criteria</strong>:</p><ul><li>Excellent Administrative skills with attention to detail</li><li>Ability to organise and prioritise your own workload</li><li>Good communication skills</li><li>Use of Microsoft applications, including word and excel knowledge</li><li>Good keyboard and data entry skills</li></ul><p><strong>Desirable criteria:</strong></p><ul><li>An understanding of integrated HR/Payroll applications (SAP) would be desirable</li><li>Knowledge of local government terms and conditions would be an advantage.</li></ul><p><em>We welcome applications from candidates who currently reside in the UK with established proof of right to work documentation. Although this isn't a necessity, having an interest in Forensics would be beneficial, as well as a keen eye for detail, good organisational and communication skills. <br><br><strong>Why are Biometrics important?</strong><br><br>Biometrics are DNA and Fingerprint samples that we collect from candidates and store on a national database during their service. Its important that the samples are taken correctly, accurately and efficiently to ensure a smooth process, and beginning of career, for our new starters. The Biometrics have to be stored correctly and therefore, we must ensure accurate information and labelling is provided, ready for testing. <br><br><strong>What will I be doing?</strong></p><p>As a Biometric Volunteer, you will be taking the DNA and Fingerprint samples from our candidates and storing and labelling the samples correctly, ready to send for testing. You will be supported and trained by members of staff. <br><br>As a Police Support Volunteer, you'll be making a real contribution to the success of the organisation by bringing communities into policing and policing into communities.
