If you answer yes, read on.Caerphilly Library Service seek applications for Library Assistants who are available for Saturday hours - 9.00am - 4.00pm.Due to the supply nature of this role, you may be asked to work at any of the four libraries at: Bargoed, Blackwood, Caerphilly and Risca and the hours of work are as and when required by the service.The post involves working with other members of staff in a busy environment, providing a wide range of services to the public. Duties will be all of those associated with the day to day running of the library, including the issue, return and shelving of books, assisting with ICT, receipt of monies and dealing with personal and telephone enquiries.The library is a designated Welsh language reception point. We are looking for someone who is passionate about libraries and the communities they serve to provide clear and positive leadership. The Library Team Leader will lead and manage Rutland library operations, personnel and 4 library sites. They will oversee the development of Rutland’s library and information offer and services. Including the development of innovation, ICT services and learning activities. 
Who you are…&nbsp;

<li>Educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualification</li>
<li>Relevant experience in the field of library and information/community development or learning</li>
<li>Experienced in leading and managing library and multi-disciplinary teams</li>

About the Role…..
As the Community Access Team Leader, you will:
<ul>
<li>Oversee the day-to-day operations and supervision of the library staff and the community spaces in Rutland.</li>
<li>To work alongside the Service Manager for Living Well Rutland, and to act as ‘one team’ by working with other Living Well Rutland Team Leaders.</li>
<li>Alongside the Community and Community Voluntary sector deliver a fully integrated and cost-effective service that meets the needs of Rutland residents.  &nbsp;</li>
<li>Lead the library team to transform and develop library and archive services to ensure that services are fully integrated and are delivered effectively, efficiently, and sustainably.</li>
<li>Deputise for the Service Manager and to lead meetings relevant to the service, at a locality and regional level.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>To lead and develop a motivated team.&nbsp;</li>
<li>To lead on specific partnerships with local voluntary and community organisations, including facilitating and chairing locality meetings, to leverage resources, expertise, and networks. &nbsp;
</li>
</ul>
Please note that we would consider a 2 year secondment for the right candidate.
The successful applicant for this post will be subject to an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The costs for the DBS are paid by us.
The Community Access Library Team Leader interviews will be face to face and held on 15 October 2025. Please be advised this could be subject to change, in which case we will give appropriate notice.
