Hastings Borough Council is seeking a Pride in Place Project Officer - Apprentice to work with the Hastings Neighbourhood Board and support the delivery of the Pride in Place programme in Hastings.
Hastings Neighbourhood Board has unveiled an ambitious 10-year regeneration plan, committing up to £20 million to transform the town and deliver lasting change. The regeneration plan sets out a vision to build pride in Hastings’ streets, neighbourhoods, and town, ensuring that every resident feels connected, valued, and confident about the future.
The Pride in Place Project Officer - Apprentice will support the above work with supported learning courses on administration, communications and project management both online and in person.&nbsp;

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who understands the private rental sector and thrives on building partnerships with landlords, agents, and housing providers.
As Landlord Liaison Officer, you will identify and acquiring suitable private sector properties to be used as settled homes for households in housing need.
You’ll act as the council’s key contact for landlords and letting agents promoting our landlord incentive schemes, supporting compliance and tenancy sustainability, and working with our Improvement and Compliance team to ensure all properties meet statutory standards.
You will help us achieve our aim of making the private rented sector somewhere which works for tenants and for landlords.
You’ll need experience working in a housing related field and proven skills in negotiating and building positive relationships with private landlords and letting agents.

The Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Planning Services Team. As a Planning Officer you will be assessing planning applications, advising on pre- applications and defending us at appeal. You will be able to understand and assess plans and drawings and clearly communicate your assessment and conclusions both verbally and through accurate and concise reports. You will be comfortable in making detailed site visits to assess planning applications and dealing with customers face to face and via correspondence.&nbsp; You’ll have the ability to work under your own initiative making recommendations on planning applications. You will be able to project manage your work to meet Council and Government targets. You will be able to work in difficult, pressured and potentially confrontational situations and remain calm.

You’ll have excellent communication and customer-care skills, the ability to work flexibly, as part of a busy and high performing team. Civil Enforcement Officer
Salary: £25,583 to £33,699 per annum depending on experience.

As a Civil Enforcement Officer, your role will be to provide an essential and valued service at the core of our public protection and community safety work. You will be fully supported in this role and will undertake patrols across the town, including in our off-street car parks. During these patrols, you will play a significant role in reducing enviro-crime and anti-social behaviour and helping to ensure our town remains a beautiful place to visit and enjoy. This work will be carried out in close partnership with other agencies, including the Police, other council departments and the local community.
The ideal candidate will be someone with experience working with the public. Having some form of enforcement experience would be an advantage, but full training will be offered to the right person.
You will be working with a team and organisation that has achieved Community Safety Accreditation through Sussex Police and you will be required to work towards this status.
